My job is to collect details and nuance about so many humans. Their likes and dislikes, joys and sorrows, and milestones of all kinds. I forget sometimes that behind that job there is a human with her own nuance, too — so I wanted to pause to acknowledge her — me.
I love butter and spend everyday grateful I don’t have the genetic variation that makes cilantro taste like soap. An excellent cheeseburger or filet mignon are always a good idea and I’ve never met a loaf of sourdough I didn’t love. I’m almost never seeking out 5 star restaurants with small bites, but love local, authentic food done well. I’d absolutely rather go to the restaurant with 2 or 3 main items on the menu, trusting that doing less often times means doing it better. If I’m going to be picky about anything food related it’s high quality espresso, ice cream and pizza crust (IYKYK).
I’m extremely passionate about hearing protection for little ones at events and, especially, on the dance floor at weddings (maybe in part due to my husband’s masters in acoustics and thesis about permanent hearing damage). I also personally wear hearing protection on the dance floor and if you ever see me vibing and grooving with earplugs in just know I’m enjoying things more, able to focus better, and prioritizing always being able to hear the sound of my kids’ laughter 🥹
Switzerland is one of my favorite places in the world (outside of England & Ireland)- if you ever want to talk about it my DMs are open and I’m an open book. But one of the leading reasons is probably not what you would guess…
And possibly the most random… I’m *the worst* at naming actors and famous people. Patrick Dempsey? I got you. Meghan Markle? Done. Beyond that don’t look to me to help you identify someone. I like to think I would be the best person for someone famous to run into in the grocery store. They’ll for sure get to pick out their tomatoes in peace 😂

Let’s chat about welcome event coverage ✨
Over the last several years, I’ve experienced such a meaningful shift in the conversations surrounding full wedding weekend coverage — and honestly, it’s been one of my favorite perceived shifts within the industry. The focus has moved from documenting a single event to preserving the atmosphere and experience of an entire gathering of people who traveled to celebrate your story.
Since photographing more welcome events and rehearsal evenings, I’ve gained a real appreciation for the effect this coverage can have on the overall feeling of a wedding weekend. Stepping into the space with your people earlier allows for a level of familiarity and connection that can change everything. When the wedding day arrives, there’s already a rhythm established — conversations have been had, hugs exchanged, champagne poured, nerves softened.
From a photographic perspective, welcome event coverage also creates space for an entirely different layer of storytelling. The imagery often feels effortless and intimate in a way that contrasts beautifully with the structure and pace of a wedding day itself - I love the duality here. Same story just from more angles. More movement, more candid interaction, more of the in-between moments that become part of the memory of the weekend as a whole.
And beyond the imagery, it simply allows more time together. More time to document the people who matter most. More opportunities for thoughtful details to be preserved. More of the atmosphere you worked so intentionally to create.
Especially for destination and coastal celebrations like this evening at Woodway Beach Club — there’s something undeniably elegant about beginning the celebration with the ocean breeze, cocktails at golden hour, and all of your favorite people gathered in one place before the aisle moment ever arrives.
Weekend Proposal at Ocean House ✨
This weekend I witnessed true intention and love in action. When Pat inquired with his proposal plans he was dedicated to creating an experience for Maggie that would allow her to truly soak it all in - and I was fully invested. We planned for a Saturday evening of capturing him getting down on one knee and to follow it the next morning with a short portrait session, giving her a chance to take a breath and let the sweet new reality wash over her. These plans also happened to work exceptionally well this weekend in light of New England weather and it was perfection from beginning to end.
Grateful to live in a place so perfect for creating and capturing moments like this.

There’s nothing quite like having a job that makes you feel like the sappiest most cliche person over and over again, weekend after weekend. But you know what? So what.
I love love. I love watching my couples soak in the day they planned with intention and ease. I love watching them let the peace of marrying their love wash over them - stepping into the safety that comes with being known fully and loved entirely because of it. I love documenting the big moments and constructing family formals lists that feel meaningful and legacy-centered and I also love all the jittery excitement of joining families and relaxing into a well-deserved celebration and all of the small interactions that make up the bigger picture. I love the people I get to work with and their work ethic, motivation, boldness and brilliance, their kindness and care for the people in their village. This job is such an honor.
Anyway, here are some photos from this weekend with two truly incredible humans. This wedding also felt like the official start of a very beautiful and busy season of many more moments of loving love. And I’m thrilled for every bit of what’s coming…
