This foster pup Hansel was quiet as a mouse.
Curled up in his crate with a soft hopeful sigh,
Dreaming of families gently passing by.

I watch from the corners, take it all in my time.
I love kids and dogs, every person I meet—
I just show my affection a little discreet.
My foster home’s lovely, I’m safe here, it’s true,
But my Christmas wish? A forever with you.
