I’ve never seen anyone, let alone an elected official, let alone a president, let so many people who are no longer in power live rent free in his head. He spends more time mocking and talking about the Obamas, Biden, Harris, and the Clintons than he does about Americans. Do you suppose if he keeps you bitching about them you won’t notice what a turd he is.
Did you vote for this? Then don’t look away. Go watch the videos. You paid for the subscription, get your moneys worth. This is how the sausage gets made. By the way who are they lying to? It’s not us who didn’t ask for this circus side show BS. Then it must be you.
Spent the day roaming the streets of Boston taking all the good vibes of Pride. We do our best to help Alice understand the significance of the day and at her age she gets just enough. Though we are not part of the Queer community the Queer community is very much a part of our community through long time friends, co-workers, and other parents we interact with. Teaching my child that accepting that these people who share this world with us are perfectly valid, perfectly normal, perfectly acceptable is one thing. However what’s more important is teaching our child that these people have earned the right to have a time and a place to be themselves in the biggest way they can because for so long some people have tried to take that identity away from them. Not a fact we should hide from. We’re not pushing guilt, we’re not “indoctrinating.” We’re teaching our child that people come in all kinds of varieties, and that’s beautiful and we should respect their identities and their struggles. Should Alice discover at some point that she identifies with the Queer community then I hope this has been a step in her knowing that she’s loved by her parents and nothing will ever change that. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️❤️
Had a great time last night at @trinity_rep acting in the Write Here Write Now 10 Minute Play Festival. Got to work with Theatre Boss Gia Yarn! Also reunited with one of my absolute favorite theatre co-conspirators @alexiselisamacedo I know very few people with half the panache this kid’s got. Writer, Actor, director, and all around funny human.
Look at these lovely people! I have had the privilege of working on this challenging play with an amazing ensemble who have made it top priority to hold each other up and make each other better. Come see what artists can do when they bring the love. Tonight we open this amazing play by @taratomahawk tonight at the @boscenterforarts with @freshinktheatre !
I worked as an understudy on this show! Though I never made it on stage just being in the room and having the opportunity to contribute to the conversations that helped this beautifully human play make it to the boards was such an incredible and moving experience. Seeing it on the cover of American Theatre is so thrilling! Congrats to all my Someone Will Remember Us and Trinity Repertory friends!
This is Molly @mollysewell_ and her dad. I work with Molly at Kickstand Café, she has also been my daughter’s swim teacher and sitter. My kid loves Molly. Molly talks about her family, a lot. She loves her family and I love hearing about them. At the core of many of those stories is her Dad. Also at the core of those stories is a lot of love. He’s clearly done something right. Last year Molly’s dad was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, small intestine cancer. He began treatment at Mass General Hospital (where my daughter was also born) and has been on a very positive road to recovery. Now Molly is giving back by running The Boston Marathon and raising money for Mass General Hospital. If you’re interested in giving you can look her up at /project/molly-raising-funds-for-massachusetts-general-hospital-91393 you can also read the story in Mols own words. (I know, hyperlinks and instagram, you can also search Molly Sewell on the given gain site). I’m thankful for Molly and her sister Grace who also works at Kickstand and sits for us too. I know their dad is a big part of the wonderful people they are. As a dad I can appreciate that. #massgeneralhospital #kickstandcafe #boston #bostonmarathon
Don’t have it in me to send a card this year so here you go. If we wrote Christmas card letters it would read something about how we miss everyone in all the states we used to live in. Kiddo and I are both playing hockey (not together), and BTW moms-learn-hockey is the best sub culture you never heard of. Rob is working harder than ever as usual on both our house and acting. Uni-Kitty had a great time at the Boston Pops holiday concert.
Come visit us in Boston, it’s a great time all year round!
#sobriety It’s been a long time since the temptation to drink has really pulled at me. I have to say though, the bewilderment of today has its grip on me. I have no plans to drown out the reality of the situation, honestly it’s just not worth it. This post is part of my defense system. I’ve also solicited many hugs today, shed a few tears with friends, even chatted with a fellow sober ally about the difficulties of days like today. My sobriety game is pretty solid, that’s not the case for everyone. If you’re hurting today, there’s no shame. Find a meeting, talk to a friend, hug it out. You Are Never Alone.
Had some time to kill while the car was in the fix it shop so I decided to kill it at @mfaboston searching for Spooky Season inspiration. MFA did not disappoint! Special Exhibits of Dalí, Hyman Bloom, and Barbara Bosworth definitely helped hit the strange, surreal, eerie, and foreboding spots.
