My journey back into distance running started a few years ago as a way to clear my head—but it became something much bigger during the end of my dad’s battle with prostate cancer.
I ran the Columbus Marathon and qualified for Boston just a month before he passed in 2023. I didn’t get in that year—but after a faster time in 2024, here we are.
It’s finally here. I just wish he was here to see it.
There’s been a lot of loss over the past few years—family and friends—and I’ve carried that with me through every mile of this training.
Tomorrow, I run in honor and memory of all of them.
Anything can happen out there, but one thing is certain—I won’t leave anything in the tank. I’ll carry them with me, and I’ll trust they’ll carry me when I need it most.
