THE SACRED HUSTLE || It’s my favorite show of the year! Thank you @missgem13 for inviting me to be part of another Her Energy Rising show this year! Every year, it’s truly an honor to show next to these wonderful, talented women! Now, I was on no sleep and chasing the deadline for artist statements so this may sound ramble-y but here we go… This piece reflects my goals to thrive not only in the physical and material sense but also spiritually. I’ve always been taught to lead with love and offer peace in everything and everyone I encounter. This year, I hope to continue my journey that way while channeling the spirit of the fire horse. A spirit that the myths called a curse, destined to destroy and burn. Instead, I hope to embrace that fire and turn it into power to be able to overcome any obstacles and build using love as my weapon and peace as my currency. I dedicate this piece to my babes who were always told they were “too much”. My sisters who were told they were “loud”. My ladies that are told they’re “too bold” or “too sexy”. All the women who were always told to dim their fire before it got too out of hand. To celebrate and kick off women’s month we have our 2nd annual H.er E.nergy R.ising all female showcase opening up. This years theme is based around the Chinese lunar year of the fire horse! 🔥.
