All made with care, a little grit, and a lot of intention.

I started controversial creatures because I wanted to create space. Space for different perspectives, authentic connection and real collaboration.
Throughout the markets, I've had the privilege to meet so many unique individuals, all carrying their own journey, ideas, and awesome energy that reminds me that Controversial Creatures is more than a design label, it is a starting point.
While I don’t fully know what will happen in the following season, I know I will use the skills I have learned and the connections we have built together.
This market season has been incredibly fulfilling to me, and I want to thank each of you for being a part of it. If you come to my booth this saturday I am offering 10% off all of my products for those who follow @controversialcreatures on instagram, to thank you for supporting me along this journey.

To the ones still getting up.
To those who fought for their lives without even knowing it.
NEC METU is for you.
No hope. No fear. Just grit. Just growth.
For anyone finding beauty in just continuing.

Let’s open it.

🚨NEW DESIGNS🚨
This Thursday I will be vending at the Hintonburg Night Market with not one but TWO new designs.
The first design explores the concept of Sonder: a feeling of awareness: that every individual has a life as unique and complex as your own.
The second design explores an experience of hopelessness and reguvination. "Nec Spec, Nec Metu" a Latin term which translates to "No hope, No Fear."
Catch me tomorrow at the Hintonburg Night Market where we can discuss what these concepts mean to you!

Overload shirts are now available online! Controversial Creatures will also be attending Untapped 2025 this Friday, May 9th at Ottawa City Hall. From 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, Controversial Creatures will be selling art prints and T-shirts alongside youth entrepreneurs showcasing their businesses. The event is free but registration is required so be sure to check out the link in bio.
Many thanks to Youth Ottawa and Ottawa City Hall for hosting this event!
The market is today—come grab one while you can! Only 8 OVERLOAD shirts are available, making each one a rare addition to your wardrobe.
Controversial Creatures is all about authentic expression—it’s the foundation of this brand. Every human is a Controversial Creature. We are complex, and our true selves won’t always align with others. But in the ethos of Controversial Creatures? That’s what makes it beautiful.
Limited batch T-shirts create a natural balance between designing and selling—a cycle that keeps creativity fresh and production intentional. Your shirt isn’t just clothing; it’s a statement. People might ask, "Where did you get that?" or "What does it mean?" That’s up to you—after all, art is subjective.
See you at the Youth Art Market hosted by the Ottawa Art Gallery from 12-4 PM!
New year's resolutions can be an effective way to get back on our feet, but they can also lead to us feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. Let's start this year off right by acknowledging our wants and honouring our needs.
Controversial Creatures is looking forward to releasing a new t-shirt design on March 2 at the Youth Art Market at the Ottawa Art Gallery. The market will run from 12-4 PM. If you are not in town, no worries! The T-shirt listings will be online shortly after.
