“What arts do for people is a win-win.” The latest $85,000 in grants from the @st_croix_valley_foundation will generate over half a million dollars in local economic activity. Organizations like @franconiamn are generating 6X more money than our total annual budget. Giving to arts nonprofits has a tremendously positive impact on their communities… and you can quote me on that!!! Thanks for the chance to say so, @presspubs !
Who wants revolution? I want Franconia to extend the openmindness and empowerment of our residency programs to more leaders of our time. I know people need safe time & space to think, and that it helps bring the best parts of our beliefs to reality. The park has capacity to host dozens yet this spring, and make good use out of the precious slice of land we occupy. I know a better future world lives inside us. Rest, reflect, repeat… this world is wow’d by people like you. How long would you take in an environment like this? Tag and share to help philanthropy find this solution! #minnesota #artist #artresidencies #philanthropy #mn
Looking for a chance to chill and recenter? Join me for Thetawave tomorrow 7pm at @franconiamn as we play sounds that reverberate around our souls in this beautiful place. Free, mind altering, and fun! #minnesota #mn #soundbowl #soundhealingmeditation #soundhealingtherapy
Last night’s gig was perfect! My grandmother Bebo taught me how to play music. Yes, how to read notes and hit the keys, but also how to relate to people while playing, and hit the ‘vibe’ of the music. Her talents have always been a beacon in my life, proof of the limitless nature of human creativity. Last night, the shoe was on the other foot. After each song, I could tell her mind was electrified and soul gushing from the new music we’ve been practicing. Any compliment in life is as meaningful to me as what she expressed listening to us. But, I bet even 2nd grade Alex starting on piano lessons would know all the practicing would be worth it. Yes, as she says, “Music is a gift. It is a gift to those who are listening, but! It is also a gift to those who are making it.”

Went up north. Sunsets, rocks, winter camping, fed a whiskey jack takis, pretty sure we saw a UFO too. Sharing ideas and refreshing times with @therealhankhill@morganlugosculpture@tomafomka

“Art in the Wild!” is a mural created by students during @franconiamn summer camp with @wildriversconservancy , one among hundreds of students’ art projects. They spent the week making connections between art and nature, including plenty of sparks flying over Dragon(flies) at the park 💗😍 Summer camps were made possible this year by a grant from the Hugh J Andersen Foundation - support like this is more powerful and important than ever in sustaining programs!
