courage to unlearn, relearn and fail: courage to play, a rare style to come across lately.
inner child disco (2026) is a hybrid documentary film that embarks on a journey of discovery of the inner child, all the way from Istanbul to Accra, and many places in between. through personal archival footage we watch Hüma unlearn, relearn and fail; hence play, in order to enjoy life; unraveling how freeflowing can become more than just a dance style, and turn into a life style.
this intimate experience is designed as an expedition in order to have an encounter with your inner child, for the first time or one of many. inner child disco is not only a film screening but rather an interactive and intimate experience where your full presence is needed, to have a chance to interact with little Hüma, little you and many other inner children who will take part.
join us on a Saturday afternoon for an evening of exploration, connection and creation.

today marks the 5th month of me coming to Accra for the first time in September 13, 2025 with the excuse of a two-week-long dance workshop and eventually deciding to move here for much longer.
it has been heaven of a ride and I am telling the story through my film “inner child disco”.
it’s about exploration, identity, connection, purpose - all the buzz words you keep hearing everywhere, but with more questions than answers.
all I can say is: I’m in love - with the journey, with myself and all that is company!
which means, it is merely the beginning.
