I paint with color and color is what inspires me first then the rest of the painting falls into place but I don’t live in color and rarely wear it. I kept my Chinese Crested piece when neutrals weren’t selling and so glad I did.
Under it the heavy wooden bench was retrieved from Ernie Casorso’s farm in S Kelowna and I scraped a half inch of decades old grease off the top to find this beautiful patina.
The skis were left in the attic by Christopher Reid (Reid Rd Kelowna c.1911) when our family purchased the house and property in 1963.
The black leather chair to the left was acquired from the second Fintry house (Arthur and Ingrid Bailey) it was in the ‘hunting room’ in front of the large fireplace hearth along with countless other treasures including a photo of Art and Errol Flynn.
I would love a do over and start a business searching for gems like these 🖤
My dining table I made with 50 year old planks from our family property (I’m quite sure vehicles were loaded onto trucks with these) and the base from a repurposed picnic table handed down to me by an elderly Italian couple whose house my mom had sold (one can imagine the food that once laid on top) plant stand and bench from Lois Lane Warehouse Kelowna. I love to create interesting pieces for an eclectic look 🖤 #contemporary #home #repurposed #interiordesign #eclecticdecor
