This pic was snapped at the counter of a beloved eatery in my grandmother’s neighborhood in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A place where people from all walks of life gather to enjoy good food with good service provided by hard working men and women. Whether all of the folx that work there are “documented” I cannot say, because I also don’t really care. All I know is that lunch on that day was yet another delicious and friendly experience.
It doesn’t take being “radicalized” to recognize that good people that mean no harm deserve to be treated with dignity. Such a starting place might lead us all in a better direction. Perhaps it is those that think otherwise that need to check their own indoctrination.
Thank you to everyone that came out to experience bloom[in]essence. It felt really good to experiment at this scale again, and I am so very grateful to the entire @creativeflagstaff team present and past that have been involved in making ARTx what it has become; which is an opportunity for artists to dream big and bring their work to unexpected places. The seed for this particular concept has been waiting to take root for almost 20 years, and ARTx gave me an opportunity to bring it to life and let it bloom in the way that many of you will know I love the most: directly at street level.
