Well, this is me…. slightly outside my comfort zone… talking about my time at The Clay Studio, my work, and my first ceramic show.

Reed diffuser sets. Finished with interchangeable smoke-fired rings, with a choice of linen or ocean fragrance. Presented in a gift box - ready to give or keep. A few of these will be coming with me to the CSE show.

A simple reversible form - one way up it’s a vase, turn it over and it becomes a candlestick bud vase. With pierced and water-etched details, finished in a simple matt white glaze to keep the focus on the shape.

Origins project. I returned to my roots and made jewellery - burnished and smoke fired pieces, paired with handmade kumihimo cords and a silver chain I made at college and rediscovered in my old toolbox.

Stack candlestick - built from individual modules that can be shacked and unstacked - showing them for the first time at @ceramics.south.east #ceramics #pottery #candlesticks #moduler #tableware
Stack candlestick modules, glazed and ready for their final firing - now it’s all in the hands of the kiln gods.

With my first show approaching, I’m starting to share some of the pieces I’ll be taking. This Stack candlestick is the piece that made me sign up. A modular form that can be arranged in many different ways.

Bloomsbury project - Part 2: Coffee set. Each piece carries a different pattern from the sketchbook, tied together through colour. It was satisfying to see it all come together.

Bloomsbury project - Part 1
Inspired by a visit to Charleston House, I filled a sketchbook exploring simple patterns for decoration. I came up with a few ideas I liked and used a limited palette to tie them together—green, yellow, purple, and white. I really enjoyed this stage, having the space to try things out on paper.

Greek project - Part 4
A more rounded form with a narrow neck. The carved Greek inspired pattern, which proved tricky to work around the curved form, was inlaid with blue slip. Not what I’d planned but I was pleased with the result.

Greek project - Part 3
The basic form of the design stayed the same, but I originally planned a carved second wall. A test piece (sadly no photos) showed it added too much weight, so I had to reworked it.
