We were very happy to be a part of the AIC - CAC 2026 meeting held in Montreal, Canada April 27 - May 2026. The trio of us presented a poster titled, " From Vellum to Digital: Safeguarding the Dean's Valley Dry Works Estate Records, 1781 - 1832. We were fortunate to receive grants from FAIC through APOYOonline which greatly helped us to travel to Montreal to share our cultural heritage and the actions we are taking to preserve it. We want to express our sincere gratitude for the grant which is helping to educate and showcase our heritage!

Our dear grantee, Joana Diniz, shares how her experience at the AIC 54th Annual Meeting (Joint with CAC-ACCR) was:
It was an honor to have been selected as one of the 2026 LACS grantees to attend the AIC-CAC 2026 Joint Annual Meeting and Conference. I’m deeply thankful to APOYOnline for the grant support; it wouldn’t have been possible without it!
It was my first time attending an AIC conference, and it was great to meet so many conservators from very different backgrounds, from luminaries of our profession to young emerging conservators. And all in an incredibly friendly environment, where everyone was willing to share experiences and find solutions.
Besides learning a lot in the sessions, I had the honor and joy of presenting a poster about work developed in the studio where I work in Brazil. It was really fun to present and discuss this case study with all the professionals who attended the Poster Session.
I’m very thankful for this great opportunity and hope many other Latin American scholars benefit from this great initiative!
