Proof that a simple phone call can make a life-changing difference. 💙 A new study published in JAMA found that more than 4,300 fewer young people died by suicide than expected in the first two and a half years after the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline launched. That’s a powerful reminder that when people have access to support, it works. "The 988 program is one of the largest federal investments in suicide prevention in U.S. history — roughly $1.5 billion cumulative — and our findings suggest that investment has translated into measurable reductions in young adult suicide deaths," said Dr. Vishal Patel, a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School and the paper's lead author. Researchers found that suicide deaths among 15- to 23-year-olds were 11% lower than expected between July 2022 and December 2024. Even more encouraging, the states that saw the biggest increases in 988 calls also saw the largest drops in suicide deaths. Sometimes, reaching out really does change everything.

Let your creative energy run wild. It’s good for your mental health! Art therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of making art to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It can help reduce stress, improve cognitive function, build self-esteem, and strengthen emotional resilience and social skills. And the best part? It’s never about creating a masterpiece. It’s about the healing that happens along the way. You can tap into some of those same benefits by getting into a creative flow state on your own, just like the elephants on our new favorite pair of socks that support mental health 🎨🐘

Today we're celebrating moms of all shapes, sizes, and species. Because sometimes, motherhood does feel like wrangling a trio of bear cubs. Or trying to teach a gangly, fluffy flamingo how to stand on their own two (webbed) feet. Or trying to keep a lion cub from tearing your home apart. It’s the toughest, most beautiful work in the world. To the moms out there, thank you for everything you do! 💚
