Kanazawa. A jewel of a city that not many visit, but definitely should. From the Kenrokuen Gardens, one of the top three most beautiful gardens in the whole of Japan, to the Kanazawa Castle, the few tourists on the streets and the Samurai House, it is a place I would visit again and again! Beautiful cobble streets and streams on the side with clear waters. Simply stunning! #kanazawa #japan #cocotettainjapan
A day well spent in Kyoto’s Empirial grounds. From the majestic gardens and the former royal family members’ residences to elderly people in traditional attire strolling the park, the polite, smiling monk calligraphing my stamp, and the stunning palace. This day was one to remember. I was particularly drawn to a gentleman who was taking pictures not only of the landscape, but also of himself. He was so well-dressed and put together that every single detail mattered. He posed in front of the camera and looked straight at the lens; purposely.
Apart from the palace grounds, ordinary people have been my inspiration; elderly people riding their bikes, people waiting at traffic lights or walking down the streets, even train drivers.

Kyoto never disappoints. Fushimi Inari was an attraction I had been eagerly anticipating. Despite the rain, we decided to visit, and to our surprise, we were not alone; the place was packed. It was absolutely stunning. While waiting in line for a stamp, I caught a glimpse of a monk picking up trash left by a tourist. The care they take in maintaining the grounds is evident; everything was spotless, and the people were respectful. Not something I could say for our accord. We still have a lot to learn, especially manners.
Little Geishas on the streets, colorful umbrellas everywhere!
We visited the geisha district at night and that also was amazing. The rain and the lights… a photographer in her element!
