We went to Japan, and it was incredible. Four nights in Tokyo, four nights in Kyoto, not nearly enough time. So many temples, so much food, so many hungry sacred deer. It wouldn’t have been as great without my beautiful man (and constant guide/translator lol) @jonlang108 by my side; can’t wait for our next trip.
R.E.M. - AROUND THE SUN. Unequivocally their weakest album, but it’s been out of print forever and is one of the last three albums I need to complete their discography (along with the excellent UP and the just-okay REVEAL), so I grabbed it today.
This specific vinyl purchase also comes with a different meaning: today I finished trading in my CD collection, over a thousand discs assembled over the course of thirty years, to Amoeba for store credit. I then immediately turned around and used some of it on an album I don’t even love that much, purely out of completist collector drive. Sisyphus keeps on rollin’ that rock uphill!

Despite my best efforts to remain 28 forever, I’m sad to report that I turned 41 today. Condolences can be sent in the form of restaurant reservations and Amoeba gift cards.
