Earlier this year the mighty
@donotsofficial asked my to pitch a video for an acoustic rendition of their smash hit "whatever happened to the eighties". They had reimagined the track with
@michel_wern and
@tonstudio45 and had turned a cheeky pop punk track into an uplifting yet melancholic anthem.
Listening to it for the first time I thought of Johnny Cash's rendition of 'Hurt' and then listened to "Whatever" with the "Hurt" video on mute. I felt it worked and the guys loved the idea. I asked them to send me videos of the past, which they did. I came up with the Reservoir Dogs outfits which they also liked.
