Isla Jaye, my sweet daughter, our Doughball. I am profoundly grateful that God gave you to me to know and raise as your Daddy. What an honor and a privilege. I loved you so deeply before I knew anything about you. And all the same it has been amazing to see your little soul bloom this first year of your life—the way you are so social, so curious, so sensitive, so joyful, how you want to be in the action, how you cannot yet speak but still light up the room you are in. You are wonderful and precious and have abundantly changed my life. Happy birthday, Sprout.

Liam, a year ago today the answer to so many prayers became “yes” as your tiny little soul came into the world. My life is radically different than it was a year ago and it’s been the greatest change. Hard to imagine, hard to explain. It’s crazy—the smallest things you do are amazing to behold as I watch you wake up to the world a little more each day. Witnessing your life is an incredible joy. Being your dad is a profound gift. Happy birthday my son!

BMW Dallas Half Marathon today. I had a hopeful goal of a 7:15 - 7:30 avg. pace / minute and ended up doing 7:28. Proud of this one! It was really special having Allie AND Liam there to cheer me on! (Sorry I didn’t see y’all at the finish line…I knew you were there tho!) And fun celebrating afterwards with friends who also ran. Great day!

It’s bb szn for the Wrights… After a long season of praying and waiting, God has opened Allie’s womb and allowed us to have a baby, and we are so deeply grateful! It has been one of the deepest joys of my life to watch @alliehwright carry our child so gracefully and humbly and joyfully. To our family and friends, thank you for the genuinely overwhelming support you’ve already shown us. To our church and community, we truly believe our child is a direct answer to your relentless prayers. So much of my life is an undeserved gift, with this standing out among all of it. Baby Wright, we cannot wait to meet you next week and show you the world that God has brought you into!

Summit of Mount Adams, Washington, with my best friend! I love doing these with her so much. I think it is becoming one of my favorite things in the world. The entire hike was gorgeous and the summit offered one of the best views we have ever seen. Mount Rainier, Mount Saint Helens, Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, and several other iconic peaks were all standing right there in full view, in addition to miles and miles of sprawling land in multiple states. The topography of the area is unique in that these mountains rise up into the sky completely isolated, in contrast to the land around them (different than somewhere like Colorado where there are mountains everywhere). It’s definitely hard to capture on an iPhone, but it is really breathtaking. • I also saw my first sky shadow (?..I don’t know what they’re actually called). Mount Adams was casting a shadow on the sky itself as sunrise broke. • We also “glissaded” for the first time. That’s when you get down the mountain by sliding on your rear end through chutes carved by other glissaders, using your ice axe as a rudder/brake. Somebody at the top offered me a hot pink plastic biohazard bag to wear as a sled in order to slide better. It only kind of helped. • It should be noted that we had McDonald’s immediately before and immediately after this climb. Weird bookends to an amazing experience.

We’ve been singing this song the last few turbulent months @northway.church . It’s written for anyone and any time, but I believe it really speaks to the person who is in a season that doesn’t seem to make sense; who feels abandoned or skipped over in God’s planning; who is waiting and can’t quite see how their situation could end in any form of goodness. It is a reminder of God’s unfailing promise to us: that He will always finish what He has started. Listen and be encouraged! Sunrise from Chasm Lake, 5:45am. One of the best sunrises I have witnessed! Love that I got to share it with Allie.

I did an interview with @voyagedallas ! They interview local artists / entrepreneurs in the Dallas area. They were kind enough to ask about my story, my music work, and my furniture business @seventryhandmade . If you’re interested in reading it, you can find the link in my bio, or below. I’d be honored if you took the time! • /interview/meet-conner-wright-seventry-handmade-arlington/ • • • • • • • #voyagedallas
