Does your rope play out of your old throw bag when unwanted? Throw bags get stiff and shrink with age. If your rope is playing out of the bag thats a HUGE safety issue, especially if it’s a waist bag. Easy fix is to cut off a few feet of your rope so that it easily fits in the bag. And think about buying a new bag soon.
We suggest our students write strength rating and length on throw bags for easy reference on the river. Bonus points for marking the tip of your rope. This is easily done with sharpies.
