• • MAISON DE LA CULTURE NDG | EXHIBITION ON VIEW Some images of Renée Condo’s new exhibition "Pewa’utieg — Nous rêvons — We Dream." “Rooted in Mi’kmaq ways of knowing, the exhibition explores dreaming as a space of relationship. Through luminous, layered forms, the works invite viewers to cross a threshold where boundaries soften, time folds in on itself, and dreaming becomes an act of listening, remembrance, and collective meaning-making.” The show is on view until April 6, 2026 at Maison de la culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. . . . . . #BlouinDivision #ReneeCondo #Exhibition #Montreal #Maisondelaculturendg

Renée Condo’s “Elitg” (2025) draws us into a sensorial field where beadwork becomes both surface and portal. Guided by a Mi’gmaq worldview, the work reflects “the relationship of part and whole — how each element belongs to something larger, while the larger also resides within each part.” Through vibrant color and rhythmic pattern, Condo invites slow looking and embodied feeling, prioritizing what she calls “heart knowledge” — an intuitive connection that extends beyond thought and into presence. As the artist shares: “Mi’gmaq law is based on heart knowledge — the understanding that how we feel about something is more important than how we think about it.” Image: Renée Condo, Elitg, 2025. 📣 Currently on view at the gallery is Renée Condo’s “Ga’qanei” (2025), as part of “Niskamij – Sky World,” her debut solo exhibition with the gallery. Using thousands of hand-sanded and painted wooden beads, Condo builds vibrant, rhythmic surfaces that hum with energy—each bead acting as both an individual and part of a larger whole. In “Ga’qanei,” fields of color and form gather and disperse in quiet motion, while Mntu motifs occupy the spaces between—evoking the unseen forces that shape existence. While informed by her interest in physics and metaphysics, this body of work ultimately centers Indigenous understandings of time, energy, and relation. 📍Condo’s solo exhibition is on view through December 13 at GAVLAK, West Palm Beach. #RenéeCondo #GAVLAK #WestPalmBeach

📣 Congratulations to Renée Condo (@condorenee ) on her participation as Scenography Artist Partner for the 65th edition of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (@mbamtl_fondation ) Museum Ball, happening tonight! As part of the evening’s theme of freedom – freedom to be, to love, and to create, Renée designed the artistic direction for one of the Museum’s grand banquet halls, featuring an installation of new works inspired by the Sky Lodge (Niskamij – Grandfather Sun). Drawing from a Mi’gmaq worldview, her immersive scenography evokes cycles of creation, transformation, and vitality, aligning beautifully with the Ball’s celebration of liberty, nature, and boundless creative energy. Renée’s first solo exhibition at GAVLAK, Niskamij – Sky World opens next Saturday, November 15, and will be on view through December 13. #GAVLAK #ReneeCondo #MontrealMuseumofFineArts

📣 We are thrilled to announce our representation of Montréal-based artist Renée Condo (@condorenee ). This November, Condo will debut a large-scale installation at the 65th edition of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts’ Museum Ball (@mbamtl ). Elements of this work will be reimagined and reconfigured for her first solo exhibition with GAVLAK in West Palm Beach, opening on November 15, 2025. The artist is also represented by Blouin Division, Montréal (@blouindivision ). Known for her sweeping beadwork compositions, Condo has developed a distinctive visual language that explores interconnectedness through a Mi’gmaq perspective. Working with thousands of wooden beads—each meticulously sanded, painted, and arranged into rhythmic fields—she draws on Mi’gmaq beadwork traditions while engaging the vocabulary of contemporary abstraction. #RenéeCondo #GAVLAK #WestPalmBeach

Having admired Renée Condo’s work for several years, I was thrilled to visit her solo show at Blouin Division @condorenee @blouindivision The exhibition’s title, “One who shatters particles, one who smells flowers,” captures Renée Condo’s exploration of the tension between scientific and sensory knowledge. “One who shatters particles” speaks to a search for fundamental truths through force and deconstruction, reflecting Condo’s interest in quantum physics and cosmology. 🌌 In contrast, “One who smells flowers” honours the embodied, relational, and present, referencing Indigenous ways of knowing, grounded in the senses, heart, and lived experience. Renée Condo’s art is rooted in a Mi’kmaq worldview, exploring connectedness and interdependence. These central ideas—including flow, balance, harmony, and reciprocity—form the comprehensive structure of Mi’gmaq traditional knowledge. The exhibition is on until August 23rd, 2025. Don’t miss it! 🗓️ #reneecondo #renéecondo #contemporaryart #indigenousart #blouindivision #blouindivisionmontreal #beadwork #montreal #montrealartist

One who shatters particles, one who smells flowers — an exploration of the tension between scientific and sensory ways of knowing. The phrase “One who shatters particles” evokes the search for fundamental truths through force and deconstruction — resonating with Condo’s ongoing engagement with quantum physics and cosmology. In contrast, “One who smells flowers” honours the embodied, relational, and present — echoing Mi’gmaq ways of knowing grounded in the senses, the heart, and lived experience. Together, these gestures suggest a dynamic inquiry into reality — at once intellectual and embodied, structural and relational — mirrored in the works presented here: larger pieces and smaller, elemental forms that seem to emerge from collisions and transformations of previous work. Opening tomorrow (Thursday, June 26th) at 5pm @blouindivision !! 🌸⭐️☀️ #migmaq #mikmaq #knowledge #indigenous #contemporaryart #montreal #quantum
