Français à suivre.... MAUREEN XI: Concordia Master of Fine Arts group exhibition at Parquette May 21-25, 2026 | Vernissage: May 21st, 6pm The 11th Concordia MFA annual group exhibition MAUREEN XI will be held at @Parquette (1345 Rue de Bellechasse) from May 21st to 25th, 2026. Vernissage: May 21st from 6pm to 11pm with a live set starting at 9pm.  MAUREEN XI is curated through a collaboration between the Concordia MFA Studio Arts Students Association and students from the inaugural Curatorial Studies and Practices Program. The exhibition represents a diverse range of artistic voices and mediums—from fibres and material practices, painting and drawing, intermedia, photography, sculpture and ceramics. In these times of conflict, political uncertainty, and institutional meltdown, MAUREEN XI highlights the power of art to inspire and to enable difficult conversations, model collectivity, and encourage us to build better worlds. This year’s venue, Parquette, is described as “a raw, DIY space made by and for the community, full of care, character, and unexpected corners to explore.” This multi-use space is a success story of how art venues can be shaped by the needs of the communities they serve. Expect to see works that reflect this ethos of care through the distinct voices and sensibilities that make up the MFA program.  Named after Maureen Kennedy, our beloved arts administrator extraordinaire, this year’s edition is also a send off for Maureen, who after 30+ years of dedication to the program has retired.  Join us on May 21, from 6 to 9pm, followed by a dance party, until late!! It will be a dry celebration with delicious snacks, food and (non-alcoholic) beverages sold by Parquette.  Images by @n.e.zirk_co and @roseannajoynay

SKYKING II SKYKING II is a radio cartography of american foreign military presence, compiling recordings from the US Air Force radios, overlayed onto satellite imagery, archival documents and personal reflections, this video installation is the second installment in the SKYKING series, continuing the research into radio as a tool of power projection. Thank you to @nellyblanken and @ra08970 for sifting through my archival mess for this video🙏

Po B. K. Lomami is an indisciplinary and interventionist artist-researcher and teacher. They are a Congodescendant from Belgium based in Tiohtià:ke-Mooniyang-Montreal since 2017. Interested in the process between action and inaction, they question people, institutions, and themselves through affection, strength, the absurd, the everyday, and data. Join us at Parquette on April 27th for a 5 à 7 with four, short artists’ talks in honour of current exhibitions at FOFA Gallery (Po. B. K. Lomami and Abi Hodson) and Warren G. Flowers Gallery (Josh Vettivelu and Alex V. Pouliot). Together, the four artists’ practices chart material resonances through vast systems of power. Across methods including wood carving, ceramics, glass work, and digital media, these recent exhibitions examine overlapping architectures, inviting us to find and share in what can still be touched, counted, repaired, and destroyed. Prize Talks is almost here! Who are you going with? Bring a friend or two or three, and celebrate the end of the semester in community. Joshua Vettivelu is an artist working within sculpture and installation. Their work explores how power materializes within interpersonal relationships. Poet, interdisciplinary artist, printer and bookmaker, Alex V. Pouliot’s practice seeks to conjure the powers at play within the making of the visual and sensorial experiences through which an individual forges oneself. Often created and shown in relation to site-specific contexts, his work has been shown in exhibitions and festivals, both locally and abroad. We’re less than a week away from our first edition of Prize Talks and are excited to introduce you to our speakers. First up is transdisciplinary artist Abi Hodson. Through video, movement, textiles, sculpture, zine-making, and facilitation, they construct a language of sensory entanglements in order to research the real and manufactured space between ourselves and the rest of the material world (between the tongue and what it tastes, between our bodies and the environments we build).
