A few pages of collage from my sketchbook. I've done collage by digital means for a long time, and it's been satisfying for a number of years. I've been exploring practices now that involve me using my hands to make things, instead of computers. Nothing against computer assisted creation, but as this world becomes more and more digital, more and more connected and intangible, I find myself going in the opposite direction like many folks. I think around the time NFTS started getting popular is when I found myself not wanting to be (primarily) a digital artist anymore, I was just off it. I think I was also tired of being known only as a digital artist, I wanted to be more.
This new direction is a great place to be in (and much better for my eyes) 🙌🏿
(2026) Newly made collage(s) from the Sketchbook of Repetition. Working towards larger scales currently. More on display in the future. #conceptrxch #africanamericanmuseum #collage #surrealism #gullahgeechee

We're looking forward to having @concept_rxch as this month's featured musician!
CONCEPT RXCH is a sonic and visual artist from Charleston, SC. His practice is an ongoing exploration of identity, memory, and cultural preservation through experimental media. His work fuses digital and analog processes to form abstract compositions in sound and image making that feels both archival and futuristic, pulling from memory while experimenting with his own personal interests in sampling, afro-futurism and alt-culture. He is particularly interested in how culture is stored, transferred, and sometimes lost across generations—and how art can act as resistance, remembrance, and revival.
Mark those calendars! Noise Source is coming up quick!
Concept Rxch and I have been working hard on our latest iteration of this piece being presented as part of CofC Theater and Dance's Stelle di Domani summer series, and we can't wait to share it with y'all! Two chances to see it on Sunday, May 24! More updates and sneak peeks comin soon!

"workshop"
as of late i have been trying to think of more ways to continue to intersect the visual and sonic worlds i inhabit. then one day (today), I found myself bored at work. i always bring my music stuff w/me to work in to use in my downtime just to mess around or if specific inspiration strikes.
as I opened the bag I keep my stuff in, I noticed how tangled my various cords and cable had gotten. And in an effort to be more clean/organized i started de-tangling them all. Just so happens that at my work we have alot of these see thru plastic bags lying around.
(At this point my collage brain starts going)
I'm interested how scanners are used as devices of capture. As a way to freeze frame and document the conditions one places in front of it. A way to turn the analog into the digital (and vice versa). By no means am I the first person to experiment with scan photography but I think it'll be a worthwhile exploration as I find my way through. Best parts : i have a new experimental practice, and my various USBs/patch cords, MIDI cables and power cords are now organized pretty well. #assemblage #conceptrxch #charlestonsc #gullahgeechee #bricolage
Another afternoon session of coloring outside the lines /w @concept_rxch . Who knew pad drones and local news clips would go together so well?
Can you spot the sound from the N64 classic, Goldeneye?
