My exposure to and first jobs in the fashion/beauty industry happened in the late 80s and early 90s. I was living in Montreal so I was mostly aware of Quebec designers. However, I did watch Fashion File with @TimBlanks where I locked onto Comrags during Toronto Fashion Week. Something about their aesthetic and consistency held my attention season to season.
I relocated to Toronto in the late 90’s where I met my partner, legendary fashion stylist @jimmymorestyle . It turned out he was at fashion school with Joyce and Judy and a cast of other amazing characters. They were still very close friends and collaborators. I was introduced. 25 years later I am very lucky to call them dear friends who I am still in awe of, both in terms of their talent and as human beings. The girls decided to close the doors after 42 iconic years. At a final open house there were lots of people, images and memories. They put out a stacks of their beautiful postcards from years past and I grabbed all the ones where I had done the makeup and hair. I left with a healthy stack of images in my hand and consider myself very lucky to have been part of the Comrags world. Thank you girls! ❤️❤️
