🎮 Superintendent Dr. Darin Brawley spent time with scholars in Mr. Keith Parker’s Game Design class at Compton High School—getting a firsthand look at their creativity in action and engaging in a powerful Q&A session. 👨🏾💻
🎤 Scholars asked thoughtful questions about his journey, the challenges of leading a district, what a typical day looks like, and what he finds most rewarding. Dr. Brawley shared that one of his driving forces is eliminating the opportunity gap for Black and Brown students—telling scholars, “See the screens in front of you? Those weren’t here when I started.”
💡 While Dr. Brawley visits classrooms across the district each week, this was a special opportunity for scholars to connect, learn, and be inspired by the district leader through meaningful conversation. 🙌🏾

Dr. Moon’s leadership continues to drive districtwide academic gains, expand access to literacy, and strengthen curriculum and instruction across our schools. 📚 Her work is helping fuel one of California’s most notable turnarounds.
Mr. Lopez’s work at Compton High is helping more students graduate ready for college, career, and beyond. 🎓 Through expanded access to A-G, AP, CTE, and dual enrollment, he’s opening doors for every scholar.

🏐🔥 Girls Middle School Volleyball Playoffs Started Today in #ComptonUnified!
Compton Unified hosted its first round of middle school girls volleyball playoffs, and the competition did not disappoint! 💪🏾✨
Teams from Bursch, Emerson, Kelly, Kennedy, Roosevelt, and Whaley brought the intensity as they battled for a spot in the next round. Every serve, spike, and save showed just how hard these student-athletes have worked all season! 🙌🏾🏐
The Walton Middle School courts were packed with families, teachers, coaches, and cheerleaders, all bringing the energy and support as our athletes dug deep and played their hearts out! 🎉👏🏾
