What does your space say about your brand before anyone speaks?
Our April newsletter looks at that question through office improvements, local art, and the details that shape how people experience a space.
Inside, we reflect on the thinking behind Compton’s own office updates, we share new insight on how small changes affect guest experience, and we highlight Art for Franklinton as part of the creative energy that continues to shape this community.

Meet @makeittremble_columbus . This woman-owned franchise is bringing serious energy to the Short North.
From a former retail shell to a bold, immersive studio, we built this space for focus, movement, and a full-body experience. Think dramatic red lighting, sleek finishes, and a layout designed to flow from check-in to cooldown.
We're proud to help bring Tremble’s first Ohio location to life!

What if the best person to evaluate a construction project… was your 8-year-old self? At Compton Construction, we've started a new initiative, "Inner Child Consulting." Under the new program, Compton team members are encouraged to astral project their younger selves to work for the day
Early results have been promising.
Field reports have shown a measurable increase in wonder during site visits. Team members have reported pausing more often to appreciate steel, millwork, paint colors, and the fact that entire spaces begin as conversations and end as places people gather, work, heal, celebrate, and grow.
Compton Construction is also rumored to be piloting a companion initiative known as Snack-Driven Scheduling, though leadership declined to comment.

What a treat to work with the fine folks at @goodlandohio as part of their relocation inside of Franklinton to Walnut Street.
Thoughtfully bringing new life to two historic homes, Good Land picked a path of adaptive reuse instead of a conventional commercial shell. And there's nothing conventional about the finished product: a tropical greenhouse, a wine bar, a retail shop, and a fine community meeting spot for the afternoon-into-evening transition.
We were pleased to serve as their design/build partner through it all and are happy to contribute another Compton Construction project to Franklinton.

A meaningful new healthcare resource is now open in Northeast Columbus! As general contractor and preconstruction partner, Compton Construction helped transform existing office space into the modern, welcoming @lowerlightschc designed to expand access to care.
This project included a new fifth-floor clinic and first-floor pharmacy, creating a more connected, convenient experience for patients while supporting Lower Lights’ mission of community-based healthcare. Thoughtful planning, strong collaboration, and purposeful construction came together to create a space that will serve the Northland community for years to come.

Better projects usually start with better questions.
Questions like:
How will this space actually function on a busy Tuesday?
Where will the bottlenecks be?
What will the guest experience feel like?
What details will matter a year from now?
In our world, construction is not just about building fast. It’s about building thoughtfully. The women helping lead projects across our industry continue to raise the standard by bringing clarity, foresight, and accountability to the process.
That makes teams better. It makes communication better. And it makes the finished space better for the people who depend on it every day.
Here's to the women who are shaping construction today.

Warning: watching this may cause immediate donut cravings. 🍩
Say hello to @rosedoughdonuts , a Clintonville favorite that went from pop-up to permanent home on High Street.
We took an unfinished shell and turned it into a pink, green, and gold dream that glows in the morning light. A compact shop up front, a hardworking kitchen behind the scenes, and details that feel just as handcrafted as the donuts themselves.
