The Liverpool City Region (UK) is a country partner of HAFENGEBURTSTAG HAMBURG 2026. There I spotted a replica of George Harrison’s Radford Mini Cooper S (Registration: LGF 695D) – a highly customized “Radford Mini De Ville GT” originally in metallic black. The car was a gift from Beatles manager Brian Epstein, who famously gifted a custom-built Radford Mini to each member of the Beatles in 1966. The mini featured a 1,275cc engine, full-length Webasto sunroof, and VW Beetle rear lights and supposedly also a car phone. In 1967, Harrison commissioned Dutch design collective “The Fool” to paint it red with intricate “Tantra Art” symbols, inspired by a book on Tantric philosophy. Mikhail Pletnev’s latest album has entered the top five on the first #AppleClassicalTop100 of the year. Produced by Rainer Maillard and Matthias Spindler on behalf of Deutsche Grammophon in a single 4½‑hour session at Berlin’s Emil Berliner Studios in November 2024, the album presents Pletnev’s first DG recording in almost two decades. While using an 11-channel microphone set-up for the high-resolution digital audio to be mixed for CD, download/streaming and Dolby Atmos versions, producer Rainer Maillard simultaneously captured Pletnev’s performances on analogue master tapes – the first new 100% pure analogue (AAA) DG recording since the 1980s. They employed two custom-made Sennheiser microphones, recorded on a tube Studer C37, then edited the various takes using the physical cut-and-paste sound engineering techniques of the tape era. /us/charts/top-100-albums

The Roman Messala and his childhood friend Judah Ben-Hur are the focus of the chariot race after their friendship has broken down. Ben-Hur Reloaded is a tribute to this epoch-making film. The heroic story of Ben-Hur, who managed to free himself from slavery and ultimately emerged victorious in the chariot race, is reinterpreted with a musical focus on two key scenes from the silent film.
