✨✨JILLIAN DAVIS✨✨ - We are thrilled to introduce our second “guest” choreographer for Choreo-Lab 2026 — Complexions Co-Associate Artistic Director and Company Artist, Jillian Davis. - Originally from Pennsylvania, Jillian joined Complexions Contemporary Ballet as a Company Artist in 2014 and has been an integral part of the company ever since. In addition to her roles as Co-Associate Artistic Director and Company Artist, she also works as a Choreographer Assistant for Jae Man Joo and Dwight Rhoden and serves as a Master Faculty member for Complexions Academy. - Jillian began her choreographic career with the creation of her first work, Tashweesh, in San Francisco in 2012. She launched the Jillian Davis Dance Project in 2013 to further her creative voice. Her choreography has been commissioned by Missouri Valley College, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Princeton Youth Ballet, Berks Ballet Theatre, and Dallas Conservatory. Her work Tiel was featured in Jennifer Muller’s HATCHED Series and selected as a finalist for Rider University’s Emerging Choreographers Showcase. Her piece Hovercraft earned first place at the 2021 YAGP Philadelphia Semifinals. ✨✨TOMMIE WAHEED-EVANS✨✨ - We are thrilled to introduce our guest choreographer for ChoreoLab 2026, Tommie-Waheed Evans. - A visionary and deeply expressive artist, Evans is a queer Black dance maker whose work explores Blackness, spirituality, queerness, and liberation. Born and raised in Los Angeles amidst racial division and social upheaval, his lived experiences inform a choreographic voice that is both raw and transcendent. - Evans has performed nationally and internationally with acclaimed companies including Lula Washington Dance Theatre and PHILADANCO. Since 2004, he has created more than 50 original works and continues to push the boundaries of contemporary dance through his Philadelphia-based company, waheedworks. His signature movement language - an electrifying fusion of urban street styles and contemporary vocabulary - is driven by gospel music and layered polyrhythms, resulting in work that is both deeply human and powerfully resonant. - A former member of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Evans’ return to work with the company in this new capacity marks a powerful full-circle moment - one that reflects both his artistic evolution and the enduring creative legacy of the company.
