Just a taste of the phenomenal cosplays at C2E2 Crown Championships last night!
If I missed getting a photo of you I’m sorry! Ya girl did her best 😬😂

When Emerson and I were deciding on which Zelda to cosplay, I quickly remembered how many different versions there are.
So instead we sat down and picked out which parts of her designs we liked best and then I built a sketch to marry them all together, much like I did with Purah.
I’m no artist, but I really love how the design came out. It felt cohesive and true to the character while still being my own-and it allowed Em to get to be a big part of the initial design process!
I am filled with so much love for this amazing little person.
Emerson is my miracle baby. After years of infertility being told we had less than a 2% chance of conceiving naturally, my husband and I had lost hope that we would get to be parents.
But in true Emmy fashion, she was waiting to make her entrance as dramatically as possible.
One pregnancy from hell later (ask me about that another time 🤢) we welcomed our petite fighter into this world and watched as she overcame battle after battle all while teach us to love in ways I never imagined were possible.
That live and her pure, unadulterated joy is the best reminder of why I do this. Not awards or attention, just the incredible human being I built from scratch blossoming into a confident, strong woman who isn’t afraid to stand up for what she wants (even when the person she’s standing up to is me).
Last night this barely 5yo got to hang backstage with Huntrix, swim around with Ariel (@caitiecutiecosplay ) and strut her stuff in from of a thousand cheering cosplay fans with grace, poise, and quite a bit of spinning.
Emerson, I love you. I’m amazed by you. And most of all I am so honored to be your mom.
This tabard both kept me sane during MANY doctors appointments and also drove me to the brink 😭
Considering its my first foray into fully custom hand embroidery I think it came out well, but I definitely plan to completely redo it before this summer.
I’ve always been my own harshest critic, and I can’t lie, Friday night at 2am I had a bit of a breakdown over how disappointed I was with it.
But my Dad always says things look darkest in the wee hours, so I let myself have a cry, picked myself up, dusted myself off, and kept going (mostly to sleep) and the next day I got to watch Em absolutely THRIVE both on and off the stage in a piece of art that I created.
UPDATED TIME FOR FRIDAY!
We will be meeting 1 hour EARLIER in order to allow folks to walk in the cosplay contest later Friday evening.
Come see @completionistcosplays and her mini me in the Cosplay Lounge for ribbons, photos, and more!
Next step? Handmade trim/ribbon for the straps, finishing all the seams inside and out to perfection (and yes, one of those shots is the INSIDE of the hem. Completionist isn’t just a username 😅), and after 2 hours of steaming the over dress is ready for appliqués!
The scariest part of a build to me is the 90% mark.
Without fail I’m looking at it on the mannequin, desperately needing a good ironing with threads hanging off everywhere and I feel like it belongs in the scraps bin.
But that’s when I remind myself that 90% ISN’T 100% and finishings are my specialty! I pride myself on crisp final hems, perfect interiors, and no messes hidden behind seams or—god forbid—hot glue.
So while the bulk of the sewing may be done, you’ll still find me in my workshop nonstop while I embroider, bead, and clean up every inch of this beauty so that E can feel like the princess she’s decided she is on that stage!
The undershirt is nearly done!
It’s made in a 4 way stretch satin so it’s comfortable and breathable for E. Because nothing is worse than a 5yo who’s uncomfortable!
10 hand sewn hook and eye closures, 2 bubble sleeves, and a lot of baby hems for structure and all that’s left is trimming the edges and adding the open sleeve bottoms!
@completionistcosplays as Purah!
We had a fun photo session at Gen Con last year, and she looked great in this cosplay. #purah #PURAH #legendofzelda #GenCon #gencon #genconcosplay
