🚨 NEW ALBUM RELEASE!! 🚨 Chamber Timbres – The Eclectic Music of Gene Pritsker Out now on Composers Concordance Records Here is a page with everything in one place—listen to the album, watch videos, and dive into the music /chambertimbres ABOUT Chamber Timbres, a portrait album of chamber music by Gene Pritsker, presents a wide-ranging yet cohesive exploration of color, gesture, and instrumental identity. From live performances to studio recordings, the album spans an eclectic spectrum of styles, ensembles, and sonic attitudes, unified by Pritsker’s distinctive compositional voice. Each work foregrounds timbre as a primary expressive force, treating instruments not just as carriers of melody and harmony, but as dramatic characters with their own physicality, humor, and edge. The result is a collection that is both adventurous and deeply personal, capturing the vitality of contemporary chamber music as a living, evolving art form. TRACKS 1. This weekend Composers Concordance presents the next instalment of our Timbre Tantrum Series Timbre Tantrum: Saxophones Featuring: Todd Rewoldt, Gottfried Stoger, Dennis Brandner, Melissa Williams We know sunday will be snowing - but hey we live in NYC - we dont care 'bout all that so come on out and lets have a fun event, at the very hip gallery Jim Kempner Fine Art in Chelsea On Sunday, January 25th at 7pm, Composers Concordance unleashes the next installment of its adventurous Timbre Tantrum series—this time putting the spotlight squarely on the saxophone. The Timbre Tantrum concept is simple and bold: multiple performers, one instrument, endless sonic possibilities. Previous 'Tantrums' have shaken the room with brass and strings—'Trumpetation' (four trumpets), 'TromBonafide' (four trombones), and 'The Fiddlers' (four violins). Now, the spotlight turns to the saxophone family, ready to howl, whisper, and explode across the full spectrum of sound. The evening features an electrifying lineup of saxophonists: Todd Rewoldt, Gottfried Stöger, Dennis Brandner, and Melissa Williams, joined by a powerhouse rhythm section: Gene Pritsker -guitar, Jennifer Vincent - bass, and Max Pollak - percussion. The program includes several world premieres, among them Gene Pritsker’s Summit, Faye-Ellen Silverman’s Three Can Be…, and Dennis Bathory-Kitsz’s The Death-Devil Comes to Party. Additional works on the program are by Seth Boustead, Dennis Brandner, Dan Cooper, Max Pollak, and Clemens Rofner. Get ready for a night in which the reeds rule! Sunday, Jan. 25th, 2025 at 7pm Jim Kempner Fine Art Gallery 501 W 23 St, New York, NY 10011 /events/composersconcordance/2001933
