At Compassion, our mission is simple: release children from poverty in Jesus’ name. 💙 We partner with local churches to meet kids’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs — helping them grow into thriving adults. But we can’t do it alone. Will you join us?

What happens when a girl in rural Rwanda refuses to be told no? She builds a cupboard to prove her father wrong. She becomes the only girl in her woodworking workshop … and earns the boys’ respect. She pays her own university tuition. And she inspires a generation of girls to pick up tools (in a field typically for men) and believe they belong there too. Compassion didn’t just support Esther’s dream. They equipped her to live it.

Sita is 15. She lives on the coast of Indonesia and has never felt more stuck. Eldest daughter. Family in poverty. Friends heading to university while she plans to skip it entirely. Not because she doesn’t want to go. Because her family needs her to work. She was angry at the situation. (Honestly, who could blame her?) Then her Compassion center did something unexpected. They saw the kids along the shoreline drawn to the water, watching the divers. So they built a program around it. Not just for job skills. For something harder to teach. Belonging. Purpose. The quiet belief that your future is still worth reaching for. Sita got in the water. And something shifted. The diving program opened a real path forward. Her coastal village is one of Indonesia’s top tourist destinations, and the skills she’s building could lead to a career as a diving instructor or tour guide. A future that actually fits the life she wants to live. Swipe to hear it in her own words. 👉

Poverty doesn’t stand a chance when an entire community rallies behind a child. In 29 countries, local churches are on the ground walking with children through school, health challenges and the hardest moments of growing up in poverty. The result? Children equipped, supported and growing into their full potential.

Want to hear one of my favorite tips for praying as a busy mom? #compassionpartner Anytime you’re picking up after them, making the bed, folding clothes, or driving to practice… you can pray short, intentional prayers. Lord, grow my boys into men who love You. Give them kind hearts and strong character. Protect them and guide their steps. Draw their hearts closer to You. Strengthen my husband today - give him wisdom and peace. @compassion also made a simple list of prayers busy moms can use in these everyday moments! Comment PRAYER and I’ll send it your way 🤍 #prayerchangesthings #prayingmom #prayingwife #untojesus

Cooking one of the most iconic dishes in the Dominican culture. ”The Dominican Flag” has been at the heart of Dominican cuisine since the 1840s, and one bite will show you exactly why it has lasted this long. Rice, seasoned chicken and pinto beans arranged in the shape of a flag. Simple ingredients. Serious flavor. Here is everything you need to make it at home: ------------------------------ 🍽️ THE DOMINICAN FLAG Gluten Free | 4 Servings Prep: 45 min. | Total: 1 hr. 45 min. ------------------------------ INGREDIENTS - 1 c. white rice - 2 lb. chicken - 2 (6-oz.) cans tomato paste - 2 pinches oregano - 1 bell pepper, chopped - 1 large red onion, diced - 4 cloves garlic, crushed - 1 tsp. fresh cilantro - Salt and pepper to taste - 2 (16-oz.) cans pinto beans - 1 or 2 sprigs cilantro for garnish INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cook rice according to package directions. 2. Cut chicken into small pieces. Mix with 1 can tomato paste and half each of the oregano, bell pepper, onion, garlic and cilantro. Marinate at least 30 minutes. 3. Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a pot over medium heat. Remove chicken from marinade but keep the liquid. Saute chicken until light brown, about 10 minutes. 4. Add the marinade back to the pot and simmer covered for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. 5. Heat 1 tbsp. oil in a separate pot. Add the second can of tomato paste and remaining spices. Stir for 1 minute. Add pinto beans and cook until warm, about 5 minutes. 6. Arrange rice in the shape of a cross on a large plate. Fill the four corners with the chicken and bean mixture to complete the flag. ----------------------------— Save this one. You'll want to come back to it. 💾

“When what you’re believing God for doesn’t come through, are you still going to believe in God?” Convicting. Sometimes we think unanswered prayers mean God isn’t listening, but what if He’s protecting, redirecting, preparing, or doing something greater than we can see? His ways are better… even when they don’t make sense yet. Link in bio to listen to this episode about how YOU can help break the cycle of poverty!

We are called to GO and make disciples of all nations, to care for the poor, to feed the hungry, to clothe the vulnerable, and to love people the way Jesus did. The mission of the Church is both compassion and commission. We don’t just offer temporary relief, we carry eternal hope. I pray this episode inspires you to meet needs with open hands and point hearts to Jesus with boldness. Link in bio to listen! 🌍🤍
