Sobrato Philanthropies is excited to announce a new community resource developed by one of our grantee partners, Community Vision (@communityvisionca ). Our team values Social Purpose Real Estate (SPRE), recognizing where our work and impact happens matters as much as what we do. We support partners and the community with free meeting space and office space grants at the Sobrato Center for Nonprofits (SCNPs). Beyond these efforts, we aim to provide valuable tools and resources that empower our partners to confidently advance their own SPRE projects. By encouraging collaboration and sharing expertise, we hope to enhance the impact of our community’s real estate initiatives and achieve meaningful, lasting results and change. Community Vision has created and launched a Real Estate Readiness Toolkit. The toolkit is a free, self-paced digital learning series to help nonprofit leaders navigate commercial real estate and facility planning with clarity and confidence. It offers practical, step-by-step guidance and short videos — all grounded in a real nonprofit advising experience. Visit @communityvisionca ’s profile to learn more. #NonprofitLeadership #CommunityVision #CommunityFacilities #RealEstateReadiness

We’re excited to share that Calvert Impact has provided a $5 million loan to our loan fund—further powering our ability to get flexible capital into the hands of nonprofits and social enterprises across California. Together, we’re expanding access to financing that supports community-serving spaces—like affordable housing, healthcare centers, and more. As a new investment partner, Calvert Impact brings a shared commitment to aligning capital with community priorities. We’re grateful to collaborate in ensuring we can continue investing in communities moving from vision to ownership of their spaces. #CommunityVision #CommunityOwnership

Last week, we celebrated 39 years of impact at our 2026 Annual Event, From Vision to Ownership—an evening grounded in partnership, connection, and the long-term work of helping community-rooted organizations secure lasting stability. Throughout the evening, one idea remained at the center: ownership matters. When organizations have stability in place, they are better positioned to serve their communities, grow their impact, and shape their future. We reflected on the journey of Hamilton Families (@hamiltonfamilies ), whose permanent home is creating greater stability for both staff and the families they serve. We also heard from Jessica Paz-Cedillos, CEO of School of Arts and Culture at MHP (@schoolatmhp ), about the power of community ownership and the persistence and partnership behind La Placita—a new community-rooted cultural hub in East San José. Throughout the night, we reconnected with longtime partners, met new community members, and shared space together—including a powerful performance by Diamano Coura West African Dance Company (@diamanocoura ), part of the Malonga Arts Collective, a Community Vision client, and an interactive art activation by fellow client Honey Art Studio (@honeyartstudioca ). Thank you to everyone who joined us for a meaningful night. We look forward to continuing to work together towards a future where communities have the stability and agency to shape what comes next. #CommunityVision #CommunityOwnership #FromVisionToOwnership

We’re proud to share our 2025 Annual Report: Building Resilience Through Partnerships. This past year reinforced something we’ve long believed: lasting impact depends on strong partnerships. Across California, we’re working with partners to expand opportunity, strengthen community ownership, and invest in the foundations that help communities thrive. Our housing work shows this in action—we invested over $20MM in projects from Humboldt County to Los Angeles County, supporting everything from community land trusts to large-scale affordable housing. This momentum is also reflected in our largest lending year to date, with more than $50.6MM invested in communities across the state. We’re grateful to our staff, partners, clients, and communities who continue to shape and strengthen this work. Partnership remains at the heart of everything we do. Today, we're at the State Capitol with @calcdfis for #CDFIAdvocacyDay2026! We're meeting with legislators to highlight the vital role Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) play in strengthening communities across California—and to call for the renewal of the California Investment & Innovation Program (Cal IIP). Cal IIP pairs state funding with private capital to unlock investment in communities across the state, advancing economic opportunity for all Californians. CDFIs are already delivering real impact across California. With continued investment through Cal IIP, we can do even more to ensure our communities are vibrant and equitable. @cagovernor @caltreasurer #InvestInCDFIs #CalIIP #CDFIsForCA #SmallBizGrowth #EquitableEconomy #AccesstoCapital #affordablehousing
