Last week, we celebrated 39 years of impact at our 2026 Annual Event, From Vision to Ownership—an evening grounded in partnership, connection, and the long-term work of helping community-rooted organizations secure lasting stability.
Throughout the evening, one idea remained at the center: ownership matters. When organizations have stability in place, they are better positioned to serve their communities, grow their impact, and shape their future.
We reflected on the journey of Hamilton Families (
@hamiltonfamilies ), whose permanent home is creating greater stability for both staff and the families they serve.
We also heard from Jessica Paz-Cedillos, CEO of School of Arts and Culture at MHP (
@schoolatmhp ), about the power of community ownership and the persistence and partnership behind La Placita—a new community-rooted cultural hub in East San José.
Throughout the night, we reconnected with longtime partners, met new community members, and shared space together—including a powerful performance by Diamano Coura West African Dance Company (
@diamanocoura ), part of the Malonga Arts Collective, a Community Vision client, and an interactive art activation by fellow client Honey Art Studio (
@honeyartstudioca ).
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a meaningful night. We look forward to continuing to work together towards a future where communities have the stability and agency to shape what comes next.
