Mighty Oak is a roots and dub Reggae sound system and record label based in Scotland, and since its creation in 2008 the sound system has steadily grown in size and popularity. The speaker boxes are hand-built and have become known for their warm but clear sound. Helmed by Ben and Jofis, the sound has played extensively throughout the UK. Guests through the years have included Dougie Conscious, Lloydie Coxsone, Abashanti, Chazbo, Caya, UK Principal (rip) Marga and Sister Lexxy, and the sound has played alongside other sound systems such as Jah Lokko, Messenger, Operation, MessenJah, Roots Sensation, Downbeat Melody, Crucial Roots, Bushrocker and more. Playing in a traditional Jamaican style with one deck and a preamp, selections are a mix of Roots and Dub Reggae old and new, one away rarities, dubplates and in-house productions.
