🌱 Zorgzame samentuinen in Antwerpen groeien verder – op naar 2026! Met een warme slotactie in Samentuin Europark op Linkeroever vierde Commons Lab de mooie resultaten van het traject “Zorgzame Samentuin 2025” — én werd meteen de nieuwe oproep voor 2026 gelanceerd. Buurtbewoners en samentuiniers bouwden met de hulp van @houthart.be samen een unieke rustplek: een bank in een wilgentenen yurt. Een nieuwe plek om te ontmoeten, verbinden en tot rust te komen 💛 🌿 Wat is een zorgzame samentuin? Een plek waar samen tuinieren hand in hand gaat met zorg voor elkaar. Waar buurtbewoners – jong en oud, met en zonder zorgnoden – elkaar vinden, versterken en op hun eigen tempo kunnen meedoen. In 2025 kregen drie Antwerpse samentuinen ondersteuning om inclusiever en zorgzamer te worden. Met impact: ✨ nieuwe ontmoetingsplekken en toegankelijke infrastructuur ✨ verbinding tussen jongeren, senioren en nieuwkomers ✨ meer sociale cohesie in de buurt 🚀 Doe mee in 2026! Alongside Tine De Moor and Peter Depauw, we’re inviting three hands-on commons initiatives to share their story at the National Commons Assembly on the 7th of March: 🛠 @tourneviebxl (Brussels) — presented by Olivier A tool library and open commons. Instead of renting per tool, members subscribe like in a library. Affordable, ecological, and community-managed through transparent rules. Everyone is welcome — and the members collectively take care of the tools. 🏭 @quatre.quarts (Wallonia) — presented by Xavier A cooperative so called 'third place' in the former station of Court-Saint-Étienne where people come first. With shared governance based on sociocracy, co-workers and volunteers co-decide and co-create a vibrant space around social, cultural and environmental themes. 🌾 COMMAAN (Flanders) — presented by Greet A citizens’ initiative linked to @klimaanmechelen developing farmland as a commons in the Hombeek Plateau and Brabantse Kouters region. By launching a cooperative, COMMAAN anchors regenerative agriculture in collective ownership — connecting farmers, citizens and land towards healthy soil, local food and a resilient food future. 🎤 Second Speaker announcement for the National Commons Assembly: Peter Depauw (Steward-Owned) Peter Depauw is the initiator of Steward-Owned Belgium — a non-profit accelerating the transition towards steward-ownership. Steward-Owned supports entrepreneurs and companies who want to anchor their mission in their governance and ownership structure. By tackling key barriers — lack of information and inspiring examples, complex legal implementation, and the need for aligned capital — the movement is gaining real traction in Belgium. Trained as an economist, Peter questions the dogma of endless growth and one-dimensional economic logic. Before launching Steward-Owned, he co-founded the worker cooperative Strategies and Leaders. Today, his focus is clear: building ownership models that protect purpose and shift power for the long term. Expect sharp thinking, systemic perspective, and a bold take on how we can redesign our economy from within. 🎤 First keynote announcement for the National Commons Assembly – March 7! We’re proud to welcome Tine De Moor @collectievekracht — a leading voice on collective action, past and present. Tine De Moor is a historian and Professor of Social Enterprise and Institutions for Collective Action at the Rotterdam School of Management. From researching the oldest still-existing commons in Flanders (the Gemene and Loweiden near Bruges) to founding and coordinating CollectieveKracht, she is known for her interdisciplinary research on how communities organise around shared resources. Through CollectieveKracht, she also bridges academia and society, mapping and strengthening contemporary institutions for collective action across the Netherlands.
