Now in our 8th year at the NAC-CNA we are grateful that Ottawa has embraced this market & that it continues to be a place that our vendors can come feel the supportive energy & have a successful day.
Nous sommes tellement reconnaissants envers le @nac.cna d’avoir créé un espace dans leur magnifique bâtiment pour les créateurs, artistes, producteurs et designers — cela crée des occasions pour vous, les visiteurs, de rencontrer celles et ceux qui façonnent notre culture créative locale.
Maintenant dans notre 8e année au NAC-CNA, nous sommes ravis de voir qu’Ottawa a adopté ce marché et continue de venir au rendez-vous.
11 years, 11 spring markets - and they just keep getting better. As a market producer, we can only do so much. Pick the right date & venue. Attract good applicants. Curate a banger lineup. Be a good organizer. And market & promote as best we can.
Then it’s up to you. The vendors that show up as their best brand ambassadors X the shoppers that show up ready to support local creative small businesses. And then sprinkle in a bit of good luck with the right weather & other factors.
This weekend, it all came together beautifully. And we couldn’t be more grateful.
But something bigger happened. I started to enjoy this again. After covid, this really wasn’t fun anymore. The uncertainty. The collective angst. The changing dynamics and how we did things. And just not knowing if people would show up really left me considering how many more I had in me. I’ve always said as long as makers & shoppers keep showing up, I’ll keep going. And this past weekend, we live to see another day #ottawa #ottawamarkets #ottawamakers
Locally made is luxury. Our local creative culture is defined by the people creating art, small-bath goods, food & drink and designs. The people dedicating themselves to creating brands that are synonymous with our sense of place.
We’ll have 80+ of our best local creatives with us at the spring market at the @nac.cna for an inspiring #shoplocal Ottawa experience.
