Last night, Regional Executive Chef George Sigeti attended Practice Greenhealth's annual CleanMed Conference for Sustainability in Healthcare in St. Louis, and he, along with sustainability partner @commonmkt , was honored with the Sustainability in Action Video Award for 'The Power of Forward Commitments' video. Our partnership with The Common Market helps connect chefs with local farms in their communities, creating a robust system of sustainable support. Chef George alone works with nearly two dozen chefs to supply @northsidehosp Cherokee with fresh produce! Learn more about the award and the partnership by clicking our #linkinbio.

When chefs get together with local producers, great things happen! We brought together our partners at @bonappetitmgt and local producers to discuss our shared goals in supporting regenerative agriculture and good food purchasing throughout the Great Lakes region. Bon Appétit has been a long-time supporter of local products through their Farm to Fork program, which creates a meaningful opportunity for local farmers and producers to supply food to colleges and universities, like @bon_appetit_beloit , and the corporate cafeterias Bon Appétit serves. Thank you for visiting us at The Common Market Great Lakes in Chicago!

📣 Overheard at our recent Mid-Atlantic gathering: "No dish is better than its ingredients." - David Leicht, CEC AAC, Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hospitality, Culinary Director. Ingredients grown with care bring more flavor, more nutrition, and more meaning to every plate. When chefs choose to source locally, they’re supporting small farms, investing in their communities, and helping shape the food choices of the communities they serve. Thank you to Chef Todd from Temple University for leading a delicious pasta demo with local products, our partners at Aramark Collegiate Hospitality for committing to local, and the local farmers who shared their products at our vendor fair: @bluemoonacres , @evergreenof1023 , and @freshtofuinc .

Building a stronger local food system starts with the farmers and the land 🌍 Through the Georgia ACRE Collective, we’re helping remove some of the biggest barriers growers face—access to land, capital, and reliable markets—so they can scale their operations and plan for the future. From no-interest purchase order loans to infrastructure investments and land access through the Farms Fund, this work is creating real pathways for farmers to grow and succeed.
