✨📸 PHOTO SPOTLIGHT 📸✨ Banshee House - March 21, 2026 One of the best small joys of going to shows and club nights is seeing your favorite local scene photogs (paging @hossphotography , @noeliavalle , @lenzdropmedia , and the ABSOLUTELY incomparable @bryanoutwest ) bop around the venues like magic. I’m a photographer and I don’t do concert shoots because shooting shows requires you to be at your most creative and your most precise *at the same time.* Then there’s also the volume, the heat, the sketchy scaffolding, and throwing elbows for angles, AND you have to do it all with a smile - Luckily, whenever you run into one - like I ran into Jay last night during @hartshorn303 ’s killer hardstyle set at @clubvinyl - they’re always happy to see you and happy to be there, and why not? It *is* the “juice” for music photographers, after all. Jay has been a fixture behind cameras at shows all over the Denver metro for years. As we’ve gotten to know him we’re impressed by who he is and what he does - for example, he recently wrote and self-published a book called Entropy Machines: You, Me, and the Universe. He’s a man with a mind, and we’re grateful to have him on board. At Common Knowledge it’s important to honor ALL of the artists who come together to collaborate for the cause. ✨THE GANG DOES A WALK THROUGH ✨ We’re only ONE WEEK AWAY from Common Knowledge, and this week we did a walk through at @thebansheehouse to plan out the workshop layout and make one sorta-kinda-big change. First things first - honestly, we’re feeling the study is a little too intimate for the presence and power of our lineup. So we’ve relocated our second room front and center downstairs - any suggestions for a name? Secondly - it’s genuinely an honor that @denverjusticeproject , @denveractivistwomensgroup , and @casadepazco have offered so much of their time and energy to be in community with us. We’ve asked them to adapt to some interesting programming decisions and it’s impressive how easily and skillfully the activist groups in our city work together for good. Finally, I want to give a huge shout-out to @thebansheehouse and Steve and Jonah. They’ve always done a bang-up job of curating weird and wild events while maintaining a safe and inclusive space for everyone. It really is the perfect home for this idea. Every time we feature an artist for our lineup, we get more excited that Common Knowledge is less than two weeks away! Olive is an incredible human and a brilliant selector, and we’re proud that she’s joining us to throw down upstairs in the Study. She fell for electronic music in her early 20s and, soon after, relocated to Colorado to involve herself in the scene. After years of dabbling in production and party culture, DJing became impossible for her to resist. By 29, she was behind the decks at parties and clubs, sharing her eclectic taste and finely-tuned ear. Musically trained since age 6, Olive DJs with an instinctive sense of sound and flow. Her engaging sound shifts across genres and moods to match the moment—seamless blends of minimal house, tech house, electro, and garage.
