A beautiful sunny day for the Wednesday Bluejays! We participated in a stewardship day for our farm animals by preparing shelters, cleaning duck ponds, and transporting leaves to the forest chicken area. In a few weeks, our baby chicks will move in and enjoy the beautification of the space. During kid-led time we also made bannock, a special common ground treat made by roasting pizza dough over the fire.
Thank you to all our supporters of the 2026 CG Seedling Sale, from first time customers to students, staff, community partners and longtime supporters of CG! It was a HUGE success and such a special time to gather at Common Ground. We couldn’t be more grateful! Events like the Seedling Sale, R2R, and the GG are not only community events - they also keep CG afloat during difficult times. These proceeds will all go towards supporting CG programs like our Emerging Farmer Intern Program, Compost Program, accessible Farm Shares and education work.
We were excited to see so many gorgeous plants going to new homes and feeding our community - all plants lovingly grown and cared for by CG's incredible farm team (Photo 10): Deb, Diane, Victoria, Hood Farmer Rob, volunteers, high school interns, and the amazing Green Jobs crew!
We deeply appreciate all our staff, volunteers, community members, and students for all the help, dedication, and enthusiasm towards our 2026 Seedling Sale! We will also have another pop-up sale THIS SATURDAY from 10am-2pm (we still have MANY varieties of seedlings available - from sweet and hot peppers, to eggplant to sun gold tomatoes, herbs and more). Stop by on Saturday, May 16th - this will be an honor system sale where you can pay using cash or QR code. Can’t wait to see you all there!

We are offering our high-quality compost made from a blend of local organic material such as food scraps, farm animal muck, leaves and woodchips. Compost has been crafted by our team through a high temperature decomposing process resulting in a well mature product with a balanced blend of carbon and nitrogen, neutral pH, high organic matter and a great diversity of microbes that foster nutrient cycling in soils. Our compost is for supporting healthy soils and is well suited for agriculture, home gardens and landscaping applications. Proceeds go towards supporting Common Ground youth and adult urban farming training programs.
