For our final event of 2025 we filled @theglitch_se1 with creatives. Open-micers, headline artists and first-timers came together to sharers their work. It was epic.
Thank you to everyone who came along, Homemade will be back in 2026 with more weird and wonderful spaces to perform in. If you know of any unique spaces that might want to host us next year, drop us a DM!🎄

Last week we were at @centralfilmschool for the table read of ‘The Real Estate’, a new play written by Will Thacker, directed by Chloe Beale.
This creative partnership began at Common Ground’s ‘From Scratch’ residency last year and we’re now developing a new piece of Will’s writing, through collaboration.
Thank you to all the creatives involved, more to come 👀

Thanks to everyone who came along to Steady Readers last week! Wuthering Heights predictably had mixed reviews, but we welcomed the debate 📚
Next month we are back, with something brand new: ‘Sisters’ by Daisy Johnson. Desperate for a fresh start, 2 sisters move across the country to an old family house that has a troubled life of its own. In their new unsettling surroundings, they find a fierce bond, that is beginning to change in ways they cannot understand…

SPOTLIGHT: Rehearsals are underway for Wang Bang Willy Wagon, a dark satirical drama about a cultish volunteer-run immersive theatre company, written by @manreeeeve
This brand new production features Common Ground creatives with Manreeve Dhothar (Write to Roam, From Scratch) collaborating with Chloe Beale (From Scratch). “This is a project I developed during Write to Roam. Common Ground has played a big part in bringing this show into existence.” - Manreeve
Funny, unsettling, and uncomfortably familiar, Wang Bang Willy Wagon asks: How far will you go to feel important?

Steady Readers book club takes place on the first Tuesday of every month, at 7pm @oldvictheatre Backstage 🎭
Each month we discuss a different book, and this month we’re making our way through Wuthering Heights by Emile Brontë. There’s no pressure to finish the book, and we provide an information pack for those who want to take things slow, including a breakdown of the plot, character relationships and links to film and audio adaptations📚
We are constantly on the lookout for new ways to make reading more accessible for neurodivergent readers, so if you’ve got any unique hacks or tips, get in touch!

Some of the CG creatives were at @stratford_east recently working on an R&D for @matipoarts new project exploring migration.
We believe having the space and time to explore an idea, before jumping into the drafting process, is vital when creating new work. At Common Ground, we do this by prioritising collaboration and play. It gives the writer different perspectives of where the story can go and most importantly, we work collectively on discovering the language of the piece🌏

Thank you to Stratford East for the space to create🎭
