. Back to October 2022, one of those Sunday nights at the end of a weekend that felt like a single long, half-thriving, half-surviving daze. In the haze of sleep-deprived chats, scorched lungs and Monday dread looming, a mate threw on a mix - the last chance saloon to salvage the our Friday night dream. People peeled off home, but we stayed locked in, trying to squeeze some natural serotonin back into our brains. I got the backstory. my mate had watched this deejay in his formative years on the dance-floor, including a memorable NYD at fabric in the early Art of Dark days. The mix hit different, the mystery even more so, a single mix on a nondiscript SoundCloud page with no infomation, no sales pitch, no Instagram links. Joe’s put out several more since, all carrying that same class, skuzzed-out flavour and straight-up badass selections. Different moods, different flows, all proving what DJs should do first and foremost: find good music and mix it well and express themselves. The place of release, is where it all begins… For our first Saturday night commute down at the inn, we welcome back @melliflow.records founder & @perlonation mainstay, @veragoesdeep to celebrate our very much overdue birthday celebrations. Vera is constant in reminding us whats important, through the purity of self expression, staying true to the craft with her emotive and mindful approach to deejaying. Good evening commuters, It’s with a heavy heart, we are announcing the postponement of this Saturday’s day dance with @veragoesdeep With forces out of our control we were really left with no choice but to look at other avenues to explore for a later date. This weekend we planned to showcase what we believe lays the best possible foundations for the music we love, with an artist that really defines why we started this project. Longer set times, giving the artists capacity to unwind and express themselves fully. Great sound to get the best possible impact for the records played, within a space that offered freedom to experiment and take chances away from the hustle and bustle of town. Space for our guests to fully unwind into the dance and connect with one another. @veragoesdeep will join us for the commute - this will be revealed in due course. The scene is now set. We take over the back room to sink into a blissful abyss with the [a:rpia:r] sonic snake-charmer, @r_h_a_d_o_o Residents @eksish___ & @__jakemoree__ in tow.
