Spent a few days with county commissioners in Washakie County. Although we were on a private ranch for our meeting activities I drove through so much of our state’s beautiful public lands (including Boysen State Park). With all that divides us, our public lands unite us! ⛰️ ♥️ 🌲
[and I guess it’s time to get one of those mics💨]

Silly season is approaching. What’s on your mind? 🇺🇸
For me, it’s not just the policies, but also the people. We need bridge builders and problem solvers. Dreamers and Doers, Listeners and Learners.
We need to put care at the center of what we do.
💜 Comment with your thoughts 💜
Thanks Nathan! Appreciate the reminder. Let’s get started…
The gap exists across industries, not just because of job choice.
When comparisons are made within industries and occupations, men earn more than women in all but five of the 125 occupations measured — whether there are more men than women, more women than men, or an even mix of both.
I’m so excited!!! It’s the most wonderful time of the year when Wyoming women are reminded that some have to work until April 8, 2026, to earn the same pay as men in 2025. 💪
We love it 😍 We so adore the appreciation for our under and unpaid labor. 💝 It’s especially awesome when we slide backwards…now it is 73 cents… 🥳
The wage gap. The motherhood penalty. Pay inequity. Lots of labels for the insidiously engrained practice of gender pay discrimination. If you thought we were past this because women are in space (which is awesome!!!), I regret to inform you that the revolution continues. 🌎
Join the fight. 💜 Vote. 💜 Check out the Wyoming Women’s Action Network, @wcwiwyoming and @wyowomen for actions you can take.
Paid Family Leave 🟰Equal Pay for Equal Work 🟰 Care Is Work
With April comes the start of county budget season (and typical Wyoming spring snows!)…as we plan for the next year, I’m focused on key ingredients to keep our county running efficiently + prioritizing key community needs like affordable housing, early childhood education, water quality and infrastructure maintenance. ✅ 💰🔢😳 (budget emojis are 😜)
I’d love to hear what’s on your mind! Drop me a comment or DM or visit me at upcoming office hours. ❤️
❤️💝❤️💝❤️ Nominate a Wyoming Woman for the Jan Torres Entrepreneur of the Year Award!
Each year the Wyoming Council for Women recognized a woman entrepreneur. You can nominate a badass woman or nominate yourself! ✅
Deadline for nominations is April 15 🗓️
I know my family would be challenged to work for an extended period without pay.
Our government shutdowns - past and present - place an incredible burden on public servants who are our neighbors and friends. Our nations problems are not easily solved, but hatred, meanness, and finger pointing won’t move us forward.
Be kind out there. Embrace our shared humanity through humility. And fight like heck for justice.
Oh yeah, and vote! 🗳️ ❤️🌎
This year, I’m focusing on being present in the present while manifesting love and care into everything. ♥️
As I work on this at a policy level, I will be co-chairing NewDEAL Forum’s Caring for Families Taskforce. This initiative focuses on addressing rising costs, persistent workforce shortages, and limited supply that have left families and communities across the country struggling to find reliable child care, healthcare, and eldercare.
Please share your dreams from over the 🌈
Let’s resolve to change the world by waging care 🌎
This week on #AnHonorableProfession, #NewDEALers Kyle Gay, Grant Hauschild, Natalia Macker, and Dr. Megan Srinivas discuss the NewDEAL Forum Caring for Families Task Force -- a new initiative to address the cost and accessibility of what Americans need to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
