The Devil — I tried to do research on every card‘s meaning and their common depictions. The devil often shows chained characters, but the chains are so loose that it looks like the characters could easily free themselves. I thought that was such a good image for addiction so I focused on that and made it my own. I also tried to keep the typical similarities to the lovers card. As I feel love and addiction are very close to each other.
Finally I decided to add one little sentence on top of each drawing, to give you a little hint of what the card could be about, or open a second layer of meaning. As a comic artist, I couldnt resist to add some text to the images :)
