Doing these photos was so much fun! It always amazes me that you can find little places like this in Seattle. Lilac City Comicon - Cosplay Competition We signed up for the cosplay competition when we got to @lilaccitycomicon. Across the categories they only had 5 spots in Expert left. So we decided ‘why the hell not’ and signed up as the Viktor duo!When the competition rolled around that evening it passed in a bit of a whirlwind. Actually placing third in our category was wild, we saw SO many talented cosplayers cross that stage! The cosplayers really showed up this year! Like most cosplays this version of Hawks started with the classic evil Eunuch advisor speech to @lydia_cosplay95 : “What if…you did your Endeavor…and I did Hawks…” and here we are. Director Keigo Takami! (Swipe to the end see the Horikoshi art I referenced for the pose)You can’t expect me to believe that everybody gets prosthetic limbs but nobody ever makes Hawks a new set of wings. Like. C’MON.So I decided to! I 3d printed each feather in TPU on a bedplate with a hexagon pattern to give it more texture. Then I put them each on an adjustable security camera magnet mount. That connects to a magnetic harness under my shirt. Since it’s magnetic, I don’t have to cut holes in shirts and I can pop the wings on and off to sit!
