Wasn’t sure if I was going to say anything but here we go. I been shooting this movie the last few weeks and it’s been fun but taking a lot of my energy and time. But I felt the need to say this because people were hitting me up and asking me and about the Kevin Hart roast. Well here is my 2 cents. I love comedy!!!! But everything isn’t comedy. First Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there especially in my family. My kids moms thank you thank you thank you. My amazing wife hope you feel celebrated and love today. I pray you all have a day full of love. This year I woke up with a heavy emotional feeling especially after having this dream full of Mother’s day highlight reels from my childhood. What I realized is that my Dad was so instrumental in making sure we made each and every mother’s day in my childhood special for my mom. Mother’s day use to be one of my favorite holidays because I enjoyed seeing how happy we would make my mom on that day. My dad every year made sure we got what we think would be a great gift and making sure we were up early before church to give it to her. She would smile and sometimes cry every year. And hugs us all. I really really really miss those hugs now. It was only one Mother’s day where tragedy struck our family and it just happens to fall on May 10th. Which is crazy. Was when we found out after a great Mother’s day my cousin Wesley who is still serving our country was set up, robbed and murdered on one of his weekends off while still in the Army. I’ll never forget when my dad pulled us in the room to tell us what happened it was so shocking. The way my mom screamed downstairs when my Grandfather told her was a sound that I’ve never forgotten. But through the tragedy brought our family closer. But that didn’t stop my dad from making sure we gave mom the best Mothers Days ever until she was gone. Missing my mom as always on this beautiful day. And thankful for my amazing parents. Thankful for my dad loving her the way he did to make sure she felt celebrated every year. #HappyMothersDay
