Y4 concluded their egg shell enamel experiment today, investigating which drinks cause the most damage to our teeth. They used enamel as it's a very similar material to teeth enamel. They were so surprised that both squash and orange juice caused more damage than coca cola ! 🦷
The Y4 children have just finished making smoothies and pizzas! They learnt all about the food miles involved and the impact larger food miles can have on the planet! 🌍🌍🌍
The Y4 children have had a wonderful evening of BBQ, campire songs and settling down for a sleepover! All children are snuggled up in bed and we can't wait for tomorrow's activities!
To finish off the afternoon, Y4 went on an animal tour of the farm and fed chickens, goats and pigs! They also learnt about different types of egg, dairy and meat farming - so they can begin to make some informed choices in the supermarkets 🐖🐐🐤
Y4 have arrived safely on their Residential at Magdalen Farm! They have spent the first part of the afternoon exploring the horticultural work on the farm, including organic herb and vegetable tasting, watering in poly tunnels and digging manure to add nutrients to the soil! 🫛🌽🥕

Today, 4 children from Year 4 and 5 - Etty, Bea, Toby and Esmee, attended the Young Poet Laureate Masterclass in Bristol after being shortlisted a few weeks ago! They had a fantastic day learning from Poet Stephen Lightbown, practising their oracy skills and met National Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage. At the end of the day, they stated to a large crowd, including judges - Simon Armitage included, why they would make a good Young Poet Laureate for the South West and performed their poems. They did so incredibly well and represented the school with courage and a real passion for poetry! We will find out in a few weeks is any of them were selected as Poet Laureate for our region ! Well done to all 4 children ! 🌈🌈🌈
The first bags of play sand are in… and the excitement is real! Safe to say this is going to be a very popular area of our school. Thank you to everyone who had donated a bag!!
The bluebells in the Willow planter have been attracting lots of pollinators, so Reception decided to build bug hotels for them. 🐞
