The Tiger girls are taking over the world ā”
We weren't sure where the tides would bring us when we first released "Tiger Girls" as a webcomic, so weāre beyond thrilled that our Southeast Asian-inspired dystopian fantasy will be making landfall on far-flung shores abroad.
More than ever now, we need stories that light a fire within us and push back against beliefs weāre told not to question ā we can't wait for "Tiger Girls" to reach more readers around the world so that you can all girl-rage along with us.

From a spark of inspiration to international recognition šØ š #NTUsg School of Art, Design and Media (@ntu_adm ) alumna Claire Lowās (@comatomato ) debut graphic novel, āTiger Girlsā, has won two honours at the Singapore Book Awards 2026 for Best Graphic Novel and Best Marketing Campaign.
Illustrated by Claire, the graphic novel has also been recognised on The White Ravens (@thewhiteravens.books ), a prestigious annual list of international childrenās and young adult literature, marking global recognition for a Singapore-made story.
While she had always been an avid reader of comics, it was only at ADM that Claire decided to pursue her interest in the medium more seriously: āTiger Girls was the first comic I drew outside of school, and the things I learnt at NTU came in really useful when I was working on it.ā
The international edition of āTiger Girlsā will be released worldwide later this year and is also available in Danish. Congratulations, Claire.

A behind the scenes of the little world I created as this yearās key visual for the Asian Festival of Childrenās Content 2026.
This process took me on a journey between the old worlds I imagined as a child and the new one I created to explore with everyone else. I hope you enjoyed the process as much as I did.
Thank you so much @afccsg ! It was a great honour to be given such an opportunity and with such a fun and fascinating theme.

"We become monsters so they donāt have to.ā
How does power shape a person? Felicia Low-Jimenez's additional short story for "Tiger Girls" digs further deeper into hidden backstories where loyalties are shaped like water and danger grows thick like a fog. But even when shrouded by mystery, the truth always glints in the sunlight.
The print edition of "Tiger Girls" includes exclusive bonus content featuring concept art, a new prose short story, and fresh new character illustrations. Get your copy at differenceengine.sg (link in bio)

What's fierce, majestic, and fabulous but in danger of extinction? This #InternationalTigerDay š in particular reminds us of the critically endangered tigers of Southeast Asia threatened by poaching and habitat loss, and the women born in the Year of the Tiger in "Tiger Girls" who are hunted and killed for the belief that they bring bad luck.
It's always the strongest ones that others seek to bend and break. Illustrating the Tiger Girls with their animal counterparts, Claire Low (@comatomato ) dreams with us of a world where creatures do not need to fight for their right to live.

Whether your girl rage burns bright or smoulders quietly, thank you for joining us for the launch of āTiger Girlsā at @bookbarsg last week ā¤ļøāš„
āTiger Girlsā challenges the patriarchy, traditional beliefs, and what fighting back can look like. We heard writer Felicia Low-Jimenez talk about how she took real-world struggles even further in an intricate speculative story. Illustrator Claire Low also shared how she crafted a distinctly Southeast Asian dystopia, from traditional wear to characteristic monsoons, to create an immersive world with her art.
Biggest thanks to Wen-yi Lee (@wenyiwrites ), who led the conversation ā she added her own thoughtful insights and might just secretly be our favourite fan! Weāre honoured to be at Book Bar again as well. We hope everyone enjoyed their dose of girl power, girl rage, girl dismantling-the-patriachy ā and thank you for choosing to spend last Friday night with us š āØ
āØTiger Girls has officially launched! āØ
Thank you everyone who took the time to join us on a friday evening to celebrate. My heart is so full. I think I have enough serotonin to power me through the rest of the year now. š„¹š§”
