I went in for routine medical tests recently… and even with insurance, I was told it would still cost me hundreds of dollars. It made me think about how many people are quietly skipping doctor and dentist visits not because they don’t care about their health, but because they simply can’t afford it. When basic care becomes a financial decision, something isn’t right. This shouldn’t be normal. Let’s talk about it. . . . . . #copolitics #mainstream @comainstream

Packing the snacks and the kids is the easy part, it’s the gas pump that’s killing the vibe today. ⛽️ We just hit $4.00 a gallon in Colorado, and honestly, it makes you second-guess even leaving the driveway. It’s hard to ignore the link between $12 billion spent on war overseas and the 20% spike we’re seeing at the pump. 📈 Between that and the new tariff taxes making everything from diapers to groceries more expensive, it feels like Colorado families are being handed the bill for every decision made in D.C. 💸 I love our state, but we need leaders who prioritize our costs; groceries, gas, and childcare instead of policies that push our budgets to the breaking point. Are the prices at the pump changing your weekend plans? @comainstream #ColoradoMom #CostOfLiving #coloradoliving #MomLife #mainstream

They promised lower gas prices. Instead, we got a war with Iran that sent the price at the pump skyrocketing to over $4 a gallon – and increasing every day. Hardworking Colorado families are paying the price for their decisions. #copolitics

Colorados's farmers are getting squeezed. Diesel to run tractors is up over 40 percent. Fertilizer prices are soaring because so much of the world's supply comes through the Strait of Hormuz. Higher energy means higher food costs at the checkout line. Farmers don't want war with Iran. They want lower costs. #copolitics

The Iran war is hitting Coloradans twice. Gas is up $1.25 a gallon, and grocery prices are rising too because of higher shipping costs. Families are spending hundreds more every month just to drive and eat. That money has to come from somewhere – for most families, it means cutting back on everything else. #copolitics

Why does it feel like families are carrying more and getting less support right now? On the surface, it looks manageable, the cute snapshots, the “we made it out the door” wins, kids where they need to be. But behind the scenes, it’s the constant juggle: childcare, after school activities, rising costs, and the mental load of holding it all together. Housing, healthcare, groceries, after-school care… it’s all adding up, and “making it work” looks very different than it used to. It makes me wonder how much of this is tied to bigger decisions being made in Washington right now, and how many families are feeling the same weight. Are other parents feeling this too? How are you making it work? . . , , . #copolitics #mainstream @comainstream #coloradokids #coloradoparent #coloradoliving

This holiday season, tariffs aren’t just numbers on a page. They mean fewer holiday deals, pricier ski days in our mountain towns, and higher costs for basics like cheese and pasta at local shops. ❄️🧀💸

Coloradans are tightening their belts heading into the holidays as stress over the rising cost of living especially health care and housing keeps climbing. 61% say they’ve cut non-essential spending this year, and many expect the economy to get worse in 2026. #copolitics

A vote to extend cost-lowering ACA tax credits was part of the deal to reopen the government but that vote still hasn’t happened, two Colorado members of Congress aren’t on board, and Northern Colorado health leaders are sounding the alarm. Demand a vote now to extend the credits and keep care affordable for Colorado families. #copolitics

Roughly 80,000 Coloradans are at risk of losing their health coverage if Congress doesn’t extend health care tax credits. Rep. Lauren Boebert and Rep. Gabe Evans are siding against these subsidies—tell your reps Coloradans can’t afford cuts to care. #copolitics

Shutdown over, but our health care tax credits left on the chopping block… Bennet and Hickenlooper are holding the line for Colorado families. The House and Senate must vote to extend them now. #copolitics

Health care costs are about to spike unless Congress acts. Extending ACA premium tax credits is the fastest way to keep families covered and costs down. Tell your members of Congress: extend the credits now. #LowerHealthCareCosts #ExtendTheCredits
