𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜/𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜, with 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐧 & 𝐍𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐦, opens every Thursday from 13 to 17. In the exhibition, Plum’s canvases attempt to appropriate some of the strategies that give paintings their symbolic value - motifs, symbols, form, use of colour, and depth. What they want, and what they are, is somewhere in between, neither or. A play on how art is constituted, they become conduits for a conversation around what we perceive art to be. The exhibition is curated by 𝐇å𝐤𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧. Documentation by LCB.

We’re proud to present Marie Thams: This Biopolitical Arena. The book compiles a selection of Thams’ work from the last decade, exploring the cultural and political structures of our age – including gender, equity, productivity and work. The book is edited by Lotte Løvholm who also has an interview with the artist. The book release will take place at Collega in Copenhagen V, 24 September, 5–7pm 🍻 @mariethams @lottelovholm @collllega

Collega is open every Thursday 13 to 17 🪡 In 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜/𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐧 shows three works prototypes of what the artist calls “obsolete looms”. Ajavon’s obsolete looms are based on the peg loom, which is usually the size of a human shoulder width with several pegs on a straight piece of wood. It is typically not used for professional weaving, and considered a domestic and juvenile tool. By giving the pegs and its base a geometric form, the tool itself is rendered “obsolete”, and the textile becomes symbiotic with its sculptural base. The peg loom was originally made for indefinite use, but due to the development of more advanced artisanal tools was rendered a single-use object. This way, the loom falls out of the crafts practice of reusing the same tools and medium to gain artisanal expertise. For Ajavon, this reflects and offers commentary on our acceptance of the short-life span of technological devices that we live with today. The exhibition is curated by 𝐇å𝐤𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 and supported by the Statens Kunstfond, Augustinus Fonden, the New Carlsberg Foundation, William Demant Fonden, Knud Højgaards Fond, Arts Council Norway, Norwegian Crafts and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ‘Looming/Looming’ install views @collllega , Copenhagen, open until 12 October 2025 🌀🌀🌀 The result of conversations about artistic practice and labour between artists Damien Ajavon (@damien.a.a ), Niels Munk Plum (@niela______ ) and curator Håkon Lillegraven (@artfag_ ) the show will be the last in this exhibition and shared work space, introducing another “loop” into the project. Greeting visitors as they enter the space is the macramé piece ‘Bievenue’ by Damien. It’s as simple and generous as it sounds. In the window facing the street, and playing on a loop even outside of the gallery’s opening hours, is a new work performed in Collega by Niels in the weeks leading up to the show. Both love letters to what spaces mean and are shaped by people who inhabit and imagine them. So happy to be able to acknowledge and be a part of Collega’s legacy as a space for collaboration and curatorial experimentation. Also grateful for the conversation and collaboration with Collega’s curator Jari Malta (@jarri.psomi ) and super-technician Jesper, and the support of Collega’s founder Lotte Løvholm (@lottelovholm ) ✨ All install views by LCB 📷
