Weâre excited to welcome our new provider, @collinsjake to Haven Health! đ
Jake brings 7+ years of experience in adult primary care and LGBTQ+ health, caring for patients across everything from preventive visits to more complex ongoing conditions.
Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Jake built a foundation in Public Health and community health leadership. He holds a Master of Public Health focused on health behavior and health promotion and previously worked in HIV research and community health programs in Los Angeles.
He later earned his Master of Clinical Health Services from the University of Washington School of Medicineâs MEDEX Physician Assistant Program, where his graduate research explored the impact of PrEP on sexual risk behavior, reflecting a long-standing commitment to HIV prevention and LGBTQ+ health.
Jakeâs care style is thoughtful and collaborative. He believes the best care starts with listening, understanding the full picture of someoneâs life, and building a plan together.
Appointments with Jake are now available on our website at http://havenhealth.care.

#CVSPartner We talk about vaccines a lot, but understanding how they actually work makes a big difference. Vaccines help your immune system recognize and respond faster to infections, often before you even feel sick. At CVS, you can get vaccinated and talk with trained professionals about which vaccines are right for you, whether thatâs shingles, mpox, HPV, or others based on your health and risk factors. If youâve been putting it off or just had questions, this is your reminder that itâs okay to ask and easy to get started. @cvspharmacy #HealthierHappensTogether
Thereâs no award for making things harder than they need to be.
Lube = comfort, less friction, better experience. Itâs really that simple.
LUBELIFE is now at Walmart, so you can pick it up with everything else you already use.

One of the most important parts of HIV care is making sure patients feel heard and involved in decisions about their treatment.
Research shows that while trust in healthcare providers is high, many people living with HIV still struggle to bring up concerns or feel fully involved in treatment decisions. Creating space for open conversations between patients and providers can help ensure care plans reflect a personâs needs, preferences, and goals.
Shared decision-making is an important part of patient-centred care.

Feeling a little mushy today as I say goodbye to a workplace thatâs been home for the past five years. It was the first place I worked as a provider where I truly felt like I was doing something meaningful for my community.
Even though itâs time for the next chapter, I feel incredibly grateful for the chance to grow both personally and professionally alongside some truly amazing people. Iâll always carry a lot of appreciation for the team and the experiences that shaped me here.

Happy Lunar New Year / Year of the Horse đ§§đ´
In Chinese astrology, Horse signs are said to face more challenges this year due to a clash with Tai Sui. Red is traditionally worn as a symbol of protection, renewal, and good luck. So as a Horse sign myself (1990 babes, whatâs good), donât be surprised to see me wearing more red than usual this year đ

Life lessons from my first trip to Bangkok:
1. A trip to a new corner of the world can teach you a lot about yourself, if youâre open to it.
2. It doesnât always take a long time to develop a close connection with someone; sometimes it just takes shared moments, late nights, and a little vulnerability.
3. You can survive five nights of dancing if you actually take care of your body. Sleep is non-negotiable, as are hydration and food.
4. Youâll never be everyoneâs cup of tea, and that becomes even more obvious when you travel to a country where you are a minority.
5. Opening your heart and letting yourself feel everything, the highs and the lows, is beautiful. Itâs proof you are alive.
