this year—this summer specifically, is a really special time for me. i turned 23 this year, which means i’m now officially 10 years into making silly videos on my computer. i remember being 13 and watching Rooster Teeth religiously, trying my best to recreate their energy and creativity and telling myself i’d do what they do one day… unfortunately i don’t think that company exists anymore but i’m still here so we upppp
for such a long time i was making shit by myself. i found creation to be something that i needed, but also something that could be deeply isolating and lonely if not balanced correctly. i always wanted to be apart of a team, to help others create, and to be dependable for someone—and i really can’t express how crazy it is that now, a whole decade later i’m doing just that.
i’m so proud of my friends and my team. looking out to the crowd and seeing that many people in attendance dancing to the music and enjoying themselves made me emotional, and took me right back to my first time meeting drip working with gshotit. congratulations to you both, seriously, been a crazy ride so far.
i got this camera 6 months ago and have not looked back. half a year of your gas tank always being a quarter full. half a year of shooting for 20 minutes only to realize your autofocus was off. half a year of learning, of making mistakes, of making cool shit (on purpose or on accident). this is the life i choose, and these are the people i choose to live it with.
this next decade isn’t just for me—it’s for you, for us, for my FR family. thank you all so much for reminding me why i started making stuff in the first place, and for reminding me that you don’t need to go it alone. i can’t wait to see what we do next, and i promise not to let you down.
