original collage poem:
Deep in the sun blistered badlands of California,
A special summer search over
700 miles of keep life carefree gleaming in the sun and
Super-roads blazoned with the nearly complete future.
Amid silhouettes of abstract smoky-blue years and
Moods that change by the minute,
Walk through silent deserts and endless prairies of murmurs and music,
Behind the misty wonders of the past and present,
Across the plains of forgotten secrets and real home-town beauty.
Wade eastward once again,
Through the unbroken expanse of yesterday’s frontiers.
Try to figure out your own actual experiences,
Through miles of slowly fading memories.
The sweep and swell of your journey and mine is still felt here,
More youthful, more silver, more striking,
Changing, yet never-changing.
THE DREAM AND THE REALITY.
