Today marks the three year anniversary of Jaz and I! Thank you for always loving me, always supporting and being there for me, and for always being the sweetest, kindest partner I could ask for. Three years of telling me when my fits don’t work, supporting each other when we eat too much, putting each other onto cool music, enjoying sunsets together, enjoying great coffee and sweet treats together, just being my beautiful handsome love. Happy anniversary, I love you more than anything. šŸ’–

In the months following @scowl40831 ’s second album, Are We All Angels, @colesun connected with @falloutboy ’s Andy Hurley. Together, the duo fell into a lengthy conversation about their favorite players, advice for fledgling drummers, and how hardcore has grounded their lives. šŸ”— in bio Photos by @christian.x and @michaeldubin

Are We All Angels is out now. We spent a collective 6 weeks in Conshohocken working on and recording this album. Played one off show. Went to three games. Saw a bunch of friends. Spent many hours fucking songs up before getting them right. Broke many drumsticks and two pairs of headphones. Walked to the studio every day regardless of the weather. Saw Belle and Sebastian. Ate at the pub and deli almost every single day. Saw an eclipse. Got to create some of my favorite songs I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. The joy I experienced creating this record is immeasurable, it’s a time of my life I’ll remember forever. Thank you all for listening.

The show in Santa Cruz on 11/30 is not only the exact five year anniversary of our EP ā€œReality After Reality,ā€ but it is also Scowl’s 400th show altogether. These are milestones I never thought I’d achieve with any band of mine and I’m honored to share a stage with such amazing bands to celebrate it. We haven’t played Chico since just before the pandemic. It was a generator show under a highway overpass on our tour with Punitive Damage. It holds a special place in our hearts, our second tour ever was with our friends from Chico in The Choice. The last photo in this post is from that very tour, it was also Bailey’s first tour with the band. We haven’t played Fresno since the very end of 2022, but more importantly, haven’t played our own show there since 2020 at the CYC. I personally spent many hours traveling to and attending shows at that venue. My first band’s first show ever was there. I hold a lot of love for Fresno. Our third show ever was in Bakersfield, it was also the first date of our first tour. Bailey wasn’t even in the band yet, our good friend @shudashoota played I think five shows with us, four of them being that first tour. It’s our first time ever in SLO, and to my memory, I’ve only ever personally played there once before. A really awesome and underrated city. The first photo in this post is our first ever group photo with Mike shot by @atibaphoto at his house. It was taken before Mike was technically in the band, we were doing our first tour with him on guitar and wanted him to feel out if he even liked touring with us before making a decision. I think we popped the question a week or two into the tour and he obviously said yes. I don’t remember who took the last two photos so I’m sorry for not tagging you, but the first photoset is from the second show of our first tour (also our fourth ever show) in Tucson, AZ. The second one, as mentioned before, is from our second tour, with The Choice. It was taken on our last day of the tour in Portland, OR, our first time there. Thanks for reading. āœŒļø
